Nelia Miller weaves together theater, video projection, dance, and music in this solo performance. While angry women are often stigmatized, Miller uses the disquieting journey of releasing suppressed anger as narrative fuel to transform these well-known stories into blistering confrontations of unequal relationships.
"Miller is a magnetic presence, powerfully and poetically evoking her protagonist's tenderness, her ardor, her sensuality, her melancholy, her fury. The show itself moves with the logic and rhythm of a poem, or perhaps the pulsations of seas internal and external. Catch the passionate and penetrating Cetology at the 2020 FRIGID Festival before it weighs anchor."

‘TENTACLES’ is a tongue-in-cheek feminist exploration of Tentacle Porn, and the third collaboration between Tessa Flannery and Rebecca Cunningham. Grad student Tessa (Flannery) is presenting her doctoral thesis on feminist ravishment fantasies when the manterruptions of former-flame-turned-porn-star Chris (Fayne) thwart her presentation. As she unravels, her own secret fantasies come slithering in uninvited. This 50-minute funny, moving play leaves both performers and audience wondering how, in the #metoo era, we reconcile our fantasies with our feminism.
Produced by Voyage Theater Company at FRIGID NY 2018, featuring Fight/Intimacy Direction by Claire Warden.
