CONFESSIONS OF A PERSONAL TRAINER  | Open: 02/25/18 Close: 02/25/18
You get the best life lessons from those that you teach. Katie’s always had a love/hate relationship with training thanks to the exhausting, complex and generous clients that have taught her as much about life as she has taught them how to squat. “Confessions” takes a deep dive into love and loss at the gym, going behind the scenes of the luxury fitness world and exploring the unconventional relationships that blossom within it.

NEW YORK CITY -- After the recent sold out run at the 2017 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Katie Kopajtic’s honest, hilarious and heartbreaking comedy “Confessions of a Personal Trainer” returns for an encore performance to Ryan’s Daughter for the Unofficial Upper East Side Ed Fest.

What people are saying...

“One of a kind!” “This whole show feels like catching up with an old friend.” - BroadwayBaby

“Raw!” “There is something endearing about this show. There is raw emotion, and it promisingly demonstrated that relationships are precious.” - Voice Mag UK

“Hilarious!” “Confessions of a Personal Trainer funnels the upbeat energy you'd expect from a personal trainer into a hilarious look into the world of luxury fitness. The result is a heartwarming, slightly manic, and distinctly NYC love story. Katie makes me want to work out more… almost.” - Adam J. Kurtz, Artist + Author, One Page at a Time

Sharp! "Confessions of a Personal Trainer offers funny, sharp insights about the vulnerabilities of a woman whose job is to act invulnerable. - Joe Berkowitz, author + critic, Away With Words

JOE'S NYC BAR  | Open: 01/06/17 Close: 01/15/17
In the days leading up to the inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump, Joe’s NYC Bar will open its doors in NYC for the first time in its 15-year existence. At Joe’s NYC Bar, the audience is invited to join the interactive, immersive, improvised, 90-minute show that seeks to build a global conversation about the world we live in. This limited 9-show run will take place at iconic Upper East Side hangout Ryan’s Daughter from January 6-15, 2017.

Originally conceived and created in Orlando in 2001 by New York transplant Christian Kelty, Joe’s NYC Bar offers a safe space for the public to interact with a diverse cast of colorful and opinionated barflies about issues close to their hearts. But it’s not just about the actors. At Joe’s, audience members will interact with diverse characters from a wired ad executive to a neurotic pharma rep to an introverted art therapist. Embedded into the experience are meticulously researched characters, each with their individual narratives explored at every performance, plus a different world-class live musical act every night.

“It’s a tricky balance to ensure that no one in the audience feels alienated,” states Kelty. “We try and make sure that no matter what your point of view, there is a character who agrees with you. We've had some amazing moments between audience members who come from different points of view, being able to be heard and to listen. That's kind of everything. We should definitely all be listening more."

Featuring NYC performing artists Frank Cardillo, Walter Michael DeForest, Kelly Kinsella, Peter Michael Marino, Julia Register, David Rosenberg and Adam Sullivan.
