CARDIFF  | Open: 01/25/17 Close: 01/28/17
Cardiff is based on a true story.

In 1972 in a gritty section of Cardiff, South Wales, on the morning following the installation of his sculpture, British Artist, Garth Evans, recorded the comments of passers-by to this work. When this sculpture was suddenly transported to their neighborhood, residents responded with surprising passion. As they grappled with their encounter with the other, what they actually said provokes us, teaches us and moves us. This play is their words.

Two years ago, Leila Philip, an award-winning writer and Professor of Literature, reviewed the 1972 tape and was excited by the idea of transforming it into a play. She produced a script, and together with Garth Evans, the artist at the heart of the controversy, began working with director Andrew Resto to create Cardiff.

3A Productions has produced the world premieres of All That Might Happen by John Philip and Two Steps Forward by John Philip and Andrew Resto as well as saucy revivals of Sordid Lives and Charles Ludlam’s Camille.

Gay Camp  | Open: 02/28/14 Close: 04/25/14
After a sold-out run at FringeNYC, an extension at The Players Theatre, and a run at The Duplex Cabaret, the critically acclaimed hit comedy Gay Camp will return to The Duplex beginning February 28th and running every Friday night.

Gay Camp is a quick-change farce that follows the stories of several young campers at a gay reform camp. They have been sent away by their parents to be 'fixed'. Instead, they learn how to love themselves and one another.

Start with a deliciously evil headmaster facing off against a loud-and-proud young camper, throw in a few electrified fences, disco balls, Cher power ballads, gay Twister, Michele Bachmann surprises, slow-motion fantasies, lessons in Straight vs. Gay, whips, handcuffs, flannel, and more innuendos than you can shake a dildo at, and you've got Gay Camp.

Here is some of the buzz surrounding Gay Camp:

WINNER: FringeNYC 2012 "Best Ensemble"
BACKSTAGE: "Critics' Pick"
TIME OUT NY: "Critics' Choice", "Christian Mansfield, Philip Mutz and Ken Urso are adorable, boundlessly energetic and rarely less than hilarious."
NYTHEATRE.COM: "Gay Camp, the screamingly funny FringeNYC show that is completely and utterly over the top as it should be."
THEATER IN THE NOW: "three phenomenal comedic actors"
THEATERMANIA: "detail-rich staging from director Phillip Fazio"
THEATRE REVIEWS LIMITED: "the cast of three are absolutely hysterical"
