Lovelorn waitress Agnes and Gulf War vet Peter develop a surprising relationship in a dilapidated Oklahoma City motel room. The budding couple must face her abusive ex-husband causes problems as well as the psychological and physical effects of an insect infestation. The play won numerous awards, including the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Play, for the 2004 production at Barrow Street Theatre.
Rising Sun Performance Company is producing the play as part of a site-specific, three-week production of eight plays as part of HOTEL SUITE. Bug will be performed in rep with Sam Shepard's Fool for Love and Room 128 an evening of six new short plays. All performances will take place in a real hotel room at Hostelling International.
