The Future Is Not What It Was  | Open: 01/11/13 Close: 02/02/13
The brand-new Kindling Theatre Company is proud to present

its inaugural production, the world premiere of

THE FUTURE IS NOT WHAT IT WAS

a new play by Michael Rabe

Jan. 11 - Feb. 2, 2013

THE FUTURE IS NOT WHAT IT WAS is a dark comedy set in a world not unlike our own, where society's moral compasses have been broken, the church has lost all currency, and no one seems to have any answers. In the play, roommates Sean and Tom are rivals for the affection of a beautiful girl down the hall, who knows just which buttons to push to play them off each other. In the midst of this whiskey and weed soaked triangle, the characters struggle to grow into the kind of people they want to be. The play wonders: which voice do you listen to, the one inside your head, or the million other voices? Can we still find connection in a world so wholly lost and perpetually distracted? And, can we ever find our long way home?

Pericles, Prince Of Tyre  | Open: 10/04/12 Close: 10/14/12
When Prince Pericles discovers the dread answer to King Antioch's riddle, he flees for his life- straight into famine, shipwreck, murder, brothels, love, and fatherhood. All the ingredients for a spectacular Odyssey-like adventure!

Pericles is ANIMUS Theatre Company's plunge into the works of the master, William Shakespeare. We're very excited to be diving to this lesser-known Shakespeare piece with renowned Shakespeare and opera director Edward Berkeley!

Fortunately for you, none of us will be doing any opera singing for this show, but we will be wowing with a range of tricks! You can expect to see some sword wielding, riddle solving, magic working, ship sailing, back stabbing, family re-uniting, love falling...um...falling in love, and lots more. Plus the one thousand roles in this show are played by a company of only 11 actors! Ok, so maybe there aren't one thousand roles, but it's true that each actor will be transforming into a variety of characters from this epic Shakespearean adventure for your viewing pleasure!

Cast:
Jeff Todesco, Amy Northup, Carrie Walsh, Paul Bomba*, Rory Hammond, Dorien Makloghi*, Matt Cusack*, Sebastian Stimman, Nicole Starret, Jack Sochet*, Emily Ellis
