MIGRATION NATION: Imported and Exploited.  | Open: 10/26/12 Close: 10/27/12
MIGRATION NATION: IMPORTED AND EXPLOITED, is a site-specific piece that will take place October 26th and 27th at Space on White in New York City. Members of Leviathan Lab's Women Writers Group will feature new works that explore the experiences of immigrant Filipinos who have taken jobs as overseas workers (OFW's) in the service and technical industries worldwide. Educated Filipinos, the majority of them women, constitute the Philippines largest export, totaling 11% of the Philippine economy. These women, without the benefit of citizenship or workers' rights, suffer any number of human rights abuses. MIGRATION NATION seeks to explore the experiences of these workers. You see OFW's everyday and may not know it. They are your nurses, maids, technicians, waiters, and teachers. These are their stories.

The playwrights of MIGRATION NATION include Nancy Eng, Christine Toy Johnson, Dorim Lee, Karen Lee, Marisa Marquez, May Nazareno, Kristine M. Reyes, Eileen Rivera and Nandita Shenoy. Directors for the pieces are Tea Alagic, Jo Cattell, Elyzabeth Gorman and Kira Onodera.

MIGRATION NATION is currently in the midst of their 40 DAYS TO $4000 campaign. We ask you to help share these important stories with our community, and ask you to give what you can; your tax-deductible donation will go toward sets, costumes, performer and technician stipends, and more. MIGRATION NATION is funded, in part, by generous support from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. Yet even with their funding, this ambitious live performance work is in need of your support. To make a contribution, go to: http://bit.ly/PEAKZR

MIGRATION NATION is made possible by a grant from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. Community partners for this project are FAHNS, NAFAA and UniPro.

PERFORMANCE DATES: October 26th and 27th. 7pm and 9pm. Tickets are $15 each. Pre-show talk at 6:15pm both nights. Space on White, 81 White St. New York 212.227.8600

Adrenalinâ€...heart  | Open: 04/26/12 Close: 05/20/12

Starring Mia Moreland (DELAYS, THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF MRS. CARTWELL)

and Lain Gray (WE WILL ROCK YOU, Dominion Theatre)

“fizzes with life both human and theatrical” – London Times

April 26 through May 20 at Space on White (81 White Street, between Broadway and Lafayette)

Mind the Gap Theatre presents the US premiere of Georgia Fitch’s ADRENALIN…HEART, which was called “fast-paced” and “engaging” by The Guardian when it premiered at the Bush Theatre in London. Previews of ADRENALIN…HEART begin April 26 prior to an official press opening of April 28 at Space on White (81 White Street, between Broadway and Lafayette) in Manhattan.

Sex, race, drugs and verbals collide in Georgia Fitch’s ADRENALIN…HEART, a terrifying roller-coaster of an intense affair between a single mum and a reluctant drug dealer on a north London estate. Erotic infatuation leads to addiction of a far more serious nature in this sharp, edgy and obsessive drama.

Directed by Mind the Gap Theatre’s Artistic Director Paula D’Alessandris (THE CLERIC, UNDER THE BLUE SKY), the 70-minute two-hander ADRENALIN…HEART stars Mia Moreland and Lain Gray.

When it debuted in London, ADRENALIN…RUSH was called, “Impressive. Very Impressive,” by The Daily Telegraph. It was selected as a critic’s choice by Time Out London - who said, “the effect of such fine, fearless writing and near flawless performances is as close to getting a needle in the ticker as you are likely to experience in the theatre.” And the London Times said, “It fizzes with life both human and theatrical.”

Woyzeck  | Open: 01/26/12 Close: 02/12/12
WOYZECK is the story of the working class. It is a tale of one man’s downward spiral due to his passive reactions to the fires that surround him. Soldier Franz Woyzeck is everyone's man but his own. To his superiors he is just an ant marching in line. To his comrades, a weak and pathetic soldier, to his doctors, a specimen for medical experimentation. As Woyzeck’s mental stability deteriorates and his wife’s actions with another man are questioned, he hears the fires of nature burn within him - pushing him down a gruesome path of which he cannot escape. WOYZECK can be explained at it’s simplest as “one man’s fight to rid the darkness that haunts him, whatever the cost.”
