Smoke and Mirrors Collaborative presents Skype Duet (awarded the Juror prize at the 100° Festival in Berlin, 2011) created by Brina Stinehelfer, Arlene Chico Lugo, Zoey Martinson, Brandon Gardner, and in association with Per Aspera Productions in Berlin. Skype Duet is a co-production performed live simultaneously in New York and Berlin through Skype. Two young woman on different continents are on quest for human connection in the modern world. Poignant, funny, and familiar, this piece looks at our fear of loneliness, the beautiful power of computer mediated communication, and what we have sacrificed as a result of our need for it- a view of the evolution of human relationships through technology.
This interactive, intercontinental theater piece, will be an internet-based performance happening both at the TONY Lounge at New World Stages and at HAU 2 Theatre in Berlin. Featuring online audience interaction, and lots of the unexpected, this piece will provide the audience with the opportunity to interact directly with Germany and it's people (and vice verse).
Performances will be Wednesday, June 1st and Thursday, June 2nd at 2pm, and Friday June 3rd at 12:30pm. All Tickets are FREE. Tickets do not need to be reserved beforehand, it will be on a first come, first served basis.

About the Company: Smoke and Mirrors Collaborative
Smoke and Mirrors Collaborative is a theatre company that creates work through collaboration.
Every person involved in a production is asked to bring their entire artistic self into the room.
We therefore blur the lines of writer, director, and actor to create theatre as a collaborative group
of artists. The process begins with a question, a dare, and a desire to combine socially relevant
themes with a child-like sense of curiosity. Through investigation with a project specific group
of multi-disciplinary collaborators, we unearth a theatrical event.
Each project seeks to familiarize the unknown and to de-familiarize the known. Our intent is to
reshape the landscape of theatre by being a globally focused company that speaks locally.
Our work is that of sculptors, carving away at an infinite number of stories, images, and
questions to arrive at something idiosyncratic and universal.
