Macbeth  | Open: 08/11/10 Close: 08/29/10
Hip to Hip Theatre Company's fourth summer of Free Shakespeare in the Park in Queens presents Macbeth and  The Taming of the Shrew in repertory, throughout seven different Queens Parks. Bring a blanket or low chair and picnic fare and enjoy a comedy one week and a tragedy the next, both performed by the same troupe of talented actors.

 

Macbeth

Perhaps the world’s greatest psychological thriller—haunted by a supernatural prophecy and spurred by his wife’s ambitions, a brave soldier dares to tempt fate only to be destroyed by the very power he seeks.

Taming Of The Shrew  | Open: 08/11/10 Close: 08/29/10
Hip to Hip Theatre Company's fourth summer of Free Shakespeare in the Park in Queens presents Macbeth and Taming of the Shrew in repertory, throughout seven different Queens Parks.  Hip to Hip was has been featured in the New York Times and recently chosen by WNYC for it's STAR Initiative! 

Bring a blanket or low chair and picnic fare and enjoy a comedy one week and a tragedy the next, both performed by the same troupe of talented actors, including three Broadway veterans.  

For the first time, all performances will be preceded by a "Green Show"—period songs, dances and pantomime—so bring your picnic 30 minutes early and enjoy!

 

Taming of the Shrew

The quintessential battle of the sexes—this send-up of the institution of marriage, the rifts between men and women and the rough journey toward love is full of disguise, deception and devilment.
