His parents are worried. ...and everybody sings! ... well, almost everybody. Reality and pathology neatly converge in this terrifyingly subversive new musical.

The Unlikely Adventure Of Race Mccloud  | Open: 09/09/10 Close: 09/19/10
The Unlikely Adventure of Race McCloud, Private Eye is a comic-book style adventure/comedy about the second-most clueless detective in Westside City.  When his secret-agent family goes missing, it is up to Race and his 15 year-old super-genius niece Cookie to find them.  Their search takes them around the world, and they soon face off against a masked vigilante, vampires, werewolves, ancient Egyptian curses, Perfect Troopers, and more as they hunt for their missing relatives.

At FringeNYC, Race McCloud played to sold out audiences,  including a late-night Costume Party performance, where audience members were encouraged to attend dressed as a favorite character from TV, film, or comics.  At the festival, Race McCloud was a hit among the fanboys and fangirls who eat up such superhero fare as Spider-Man and The Dark Knight, and it was also a big hit among families, with parents and kids alike eagerly expressing their enthusiasm for Race and Cookie's unlikely adventure.

About the Company: Black Henna Productions

In September of 2003, a handful of innovative artists decided to embark on an epic journey.  The goal would be a new theatre company forged in the image of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, where every member of the company collaborated on every piece, either writing, acting, directing, designing, or filling any other role that fit their own personal skills. What came from this venture became Black Henna Productions, an independent theatre company, run entirely by theatrical artists, with the commitment to bring new, exciting, and challenging theatre to the world. Join them on their journey.  Visit the worlds they create.  Sit back and enjoy the ride.  You won’t be disappointed.

No Sex Please, We're British  | Open: 07/18/09 Close: 07/26/09
Scandinavian pornography abounds when it is mistakenly sent to a bank branch manager and his young bride.  They try to keep it safely hidden from his nosy mother who happens to be visiting, his boss who's trying to become family, a bank inspector with insomnia who comes by for an unexpected visit and a tipsy police superintendent. With the help of the chief cashier who is way over his head, they manage to spin the most insane and deliciously fun web of mistaken identities, physical mishaps and hilarious complications resulting in a true classic door-slamming, high energy farce.

Songs For A New World  | Open: 10/12/08 Close: 10/25/08
Jason Robert Brown's beloved musical Songs For A New World returns to Manhattan for its first authorized NYC production since its debut in 1996. Says the author of this gripping revue, "it's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back." A 14-member youth ensemble that reflects the changing faces of the 21st century joins the original four characters as they take the audience on a journey through the challenges that face every generation: what is it like to be afraid, to overcome that fear, to love someone, to lose someone, to create a new life, to rise to new heights. Songs For A New World has an exquisitely crafted score that will entertain you, enlighten you, and open your heart. It's a remarkable achievement from a remarkable artist, whose newest show 13, The Musical opens on Broadway this fall.
