The Time Of Your Life  | Open: 10/03/08 Close: 11/01/08
Set in the uneasy calm between the Depression and WWII, THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE follows the patrons of a San Francisco waterfront bar over the course of a single day in 1939. Uniquely American, Saroyan's twenty-seven characters exude a clear-eyed confidence and resiliency as they face troubles head-on in this funny, dramatic and ultimately touching celebration of existence. THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE won both the 1940 Pulitzer Prize for drama and the 1940 New York Drama Critics Circle Award. Peter Dobbins, artistic director of The Storm Theatre, directs.
House Of Desires  | Open: 01/06/06 Close: 01/28/06
House of Desires delivers romantic mayhem to the doorstep of brother and sister Don Pedro and Dona Ana who find themselves entangled in a comic mess: Don Pedro loves Dona Leonor who loves Don Carlos, who is fancied by Dona Ana but betrothed to Don Juan.

The play is a bawdy, starry-eyed tale of confusion and mistaken identities rich with wily servants and groping suitors. House of Desires examines the idea of free will for women at a time when her worth was defined by society's strict moral code. With honor and desire at stake, will the lovers' whims lead them to happiness?

This 17th century wild romantic farce was written by one of the few female playwrights of the age, Sor Juana InÚs de la Cruz, a poet, nun and major baroque literary figure of Mexico.

'Tis Pity She's A Whore  | Open: 09/29/05 Close: 10/21/05
Set in Parma, Italy, 'TIS PITY SHE'S A WHORE tells the tale of an incestuous love between Giovanni and his sister Annabella that ends in spectacular violence. Written in 1630, this controversial story of lust, jealousy and betrayal is shockingly modern. Playwright John Ford wrestles with those enduring forces of evil which plague us today: driving teens to slaughter jeering classmates, prompting clergy to cover up scandals, and deluding politicians who justify hypocrisy as righteousness.
