In the first act of FAMILY DINNER, we meet the Wells family in its suburban Southern California home in 1963, a seemingly typical family that reflects the American values as we understood them at that time: father Howard's business is enjoying unexpected growth, mother Jane remains at home to look out for their three school-age children. The family sits down to dinner together every night, with the cocktails and casseroles that were the order of the day in the early 60's.Act 2 revisits the Wells family 40 years later (the daughter in the first act is the mother now and the family is located in post 9/11 NYC), and the tradition of conversation and word-play at the family dinner are long-forgotten. In fact, the very idea of a such a dinner is seemingly impossible.

Spotlight On Festivals (Frank Calo, Executive Producer) presents Jason Robert Brown’s Songs for a New World, to benefit the Patrick Michael McMurphy Foundation (PM3 Foundation), which supports the arts through scholarships and grants. Songs for a New World, which debuted Off-Broadway in 1995, underscores the moments that determine whether someone is up for life’s challenges- those instances that define a person indefinitely. Songs for a New World is often presented as a song cycle; this production, however, will highlight the Grecian tradition of storytelling that underscores the overarching themes of the piece.
All net proceeds from the production will benefit The Patrick Michael McMurphy Memorial Foundation (The PM3 Foundation), which was established shortly after the tragic death of 23-year-old actor Patrick Michael McMurphy on August 30, 2008. The PM3 Foundation provides scholarships and grants to support the arts, specifically theater, film, and music. First seeded with Patrick’s life savings, the foundation has grown through the contributions of family, friends, and others whose lives he touched. The foundation currently funds a scholarship to the Stella Adler Conservatory, from which Patrick graduated only a couple of weeks before his untimely death.
A detention room in France during the German occupation is the setting for America’s preeminent playwright to explore the themes of guilt and complicity with the forces of authority. In Incident at Vichy, ten men have been picked up for ‘questioning.’ As the men grapple with the fears, uncertainty and self-denial about the unspeakable fate that awaits them, Miller uniquely examines an historical period whose consequences continue to reverberate today

THE MAIL ORDER BRIDE is Charles L. Mee's tribute to the writings of Molière. Inspired by THE IMAGINARY INVALID (as well as other plays by Molière, Wycherley, and Aristophanes) the new comedy set in modern-day Brooklyn revolves around Argan, an older hypochondriac who orders up a young Asian bride much to the outrage of his family and friends. But when a handsome young caterer arrives on the scene, the bride must choose between loyalty and love, and Argan is forced to learn the difference between growing old and growing up.
THE IMAGINARY INVALID is Molière's satirical look at the medical profession. As Argan (the "invalid")'s financial circumstances collapse under the weight of excessive medical bills, made by his own fears and by the unscrupulous behavior of his two physicians, he decides to marry his daughter off to one of his doctors in return for a lifetime of free medical treatments. The idea meets opposition, though, when it becomes clear that the young lady's affections lie elsewhere. Soon the entire household is involved in an elaborate, uproarious plot to save true love.

This August witness the extraordinary stylings of Anais Nin's writing on the New York stage, performed by some of the finest award-winning actors in the city. Anais Nin was a poetic writer, a daring writer. Her innovative, evocative style encapsulated both feminism and the feminine. She came to be something of a cult figure and distinguished herself in literary circles. She wrote of female sexuality explicitly in her diaries and then published them. She was known for saying; "You have a right to experiment with your life. You will make mistakes. And they are right too" (AN).Anaïs Nin: One of Her Lives follows Nin, a writer who, in the end, must choose her own path if she is to succeed in her literary ambition. Biographically, the play traces the complicated love triangle between Anais Nin, author, Henry Miller and his wife June. A literary ménage a trois is born that is like no other.
Haymarket focuses on one of those leaders, Albert Parsons, and his wife Lucy Parsons, a bi-racial ex-slave. Using newspapers, trial transcripts, and original scenes, the play shows the aftershocks from the May 4 explosion that rocked the city of Chicago in the summer of 1886.
The play begins moments after the bomb is thrown, and follows the lives of anarchists, policemen, elected officials, and ordinary citizens in the aftermath of tragedy and through the first "red scare" in American history.
YANK! takes a look at the often overlooked gay men who fought and loved in the ranks during WWII. The show pays loving homage to both Hollywood's "it takes one of every kind to make a platoon" war flicks as well as the 1940's Broadway lyricism of Rodgers and Hammerstein (the show even features a Dream Ballet). In addition to being suffused with songs (swing, big band, boogie-woogie) YANK! explores what stories get told in wartime, what gets remembered, and how WWII became the great catalyst in bringing gay men and women together.
