SIX CHARACTERS IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHOR

Genre: Comedy, Drama
By Luigi Pirandello, adapted by the Wise Fish Theater Collective, Directed by Martina Bonolis

Six characters enter a theater...and they won't leave.

In this brand new, modern adaptation of Luigi Pirandello's classic work, the heart and soul of theater confronts its logistics and bottom lines, asking us to reconsider the timeless question: does art imitate life, or does life imitate art? Or, more importantly, is this whole art thing a sham to begin with?

With: Anthony Abdo, Carmen Borla, Meghan Ginley, Danny Gomez, Alen Kolenovic, Victoria Myrthil, Franco Pedicini, Conrad Shaw, Colleen Slattery, Bianca Soto, Natasa Warasch

About the Company: The Wise Fish Theater Collective

We are theater artists and friends who were looking for an artistic home where our voices were heard and nobody was in charge, where we could build upon our creative strengths and explore new ideas without needing permission. Mostly, we were looking for a place where we could create all together, where we could create art that comes from collaboration. One day, our founder thought, "Hey!  I'm getting a vibe here. Something needs to happen!" So she asked her friends if they wanted to make magic with her. And, with the enthusiasm that has sustained us ever since, they said, “Heck Yes We Do!” And then they did. That was it.

Bianca Soto Stage Manager

I am a New York native stage and film actor. I began my career early on as a dancer where I had the privilege of performing in the New York International Fringe Festival, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and at the Women’s World Cup Opening Ceremonies (with N*SYNC!) to highlight a few.

Eventually I shifted my focus to acting where I received training from The William Esper Studio’s 2 year Meisner program. I recently finished a year long apprenticeship with The Barrow Group and I am also a proud member of the bi-coastal 68 Cent Crew Theatre Company and the Wise Fish Theater Collective.

Anthony Abdo is an emerging, dynamic young actor based out of New York. From immersing himself as The Crucible‘s John Proctor on stage, to playing the title character in the award winning feature film,Micha (directed by Eugene Martin), he focuses on sharing his creative passion through acting and filmmaking.

A graduate from the University of North Texas, Anthony learned the ins and outs of film production by earning a B.A. in Film with honors, and self-produces work regularly. With two screenplays (Born, Good Grief) transformed into full productions, and more on the way, Anthony strives to tell stories which tap into the intimacies and truths of the human condition. His work directing the music video forTEAM*’s “Am I Alive”  was featured at Journeys stores across North America.

Nataša studied drama at Lee Strasberg Theater Institute under the tutelage of Robert Castle.  She has appeared in several NYC theater productions, including Jean-Paul Sartre's No Exit.  New York Times editor Ken Jaworowski noted "Nataša brught a fresh spin to the role of the Valet, creating a seductive tease rather than a perfunctroy caretaker."

In 2004, Nataša conceived her highly personal film, Weight which she cowrote, produced, and starred in.  Weight screened at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival's Short Film Corner.  In 2009, Nataša produced the documentary Jobsite which screened at the Big Sky Film Festival, and in 2014, she cowrote, produced, and starred opposite Paul Calderon in the feature film, Grand Slammed

As a stand-up comedian, Nataša has made numerous appearances at Broadway Comedy Club and Q.E.D.

In 2016, Nataša will be performing in Pirandello's Six Characters in Search of an Author and John Nizzari's Temporary Light at Dixon Place

Colleen is currently preparing for the role of The Ingenue in an adaption of Luigi Pirandello's Six Characters in Search of an Author. The show is being presented as the inaugural production of Wise Fish Theater Collective, in which Colleen is a founding member. The show runs May 6th-16th at the Robert Moss Theater, located across the street from The Public.

Danny Gomez Comedian

Danny’s a lover who considers himself as a “triple threat” – he loves to sing, dance, and act. However, if you’re the type who cares more about things like being on key, having rhythm, knowing lyrics, blah blah blah, then you may see him as more of a “single warning.” Regardless, you’ll be entertained.

Victoria Myrthil StepDaughter

Victoria Myrthil is a Haitian-American, Brooklyn-born, Tisch School of the Arts graduate with a flare for the dramatics. As a learned artist she has professionally trained in acting, dancing, singing and the backstage art of writing, producing, directing. Victoria has dedicated much of her craft to the creation and support of original work: from her very own production of “Fall From Grace,” a superhero dramedy with a comic book touch, to her directorial debut in the FringeNYC Festival extended production of  “Magical Negro Speaks,” a one man show that explores the archetype of the magic negro in media. Interested in the voice not often heard, Victoria has an au courant knack for developing stories that aren’t part of the mainstream frequency in such a way that still resonates with popular audiences. Victoria has written several pieces of full length works from her drama Until April to her mini web series Misplaced Quarters. Victoria has toured internationally with Trey Anthony Studios in the stage production of Da’ Kink in My Hair and can be seen in various on screen projects. Currently she is working with NYC based theatre company, Wise Fish Theater Collective, flexing her artistic muscles in acting, directing, and writing. When Victoria is not acting professionally, she carries her theatrical energy into her everyday, working with all ages as a Dance teacher. Victoria is passionate and with talent, determination, and imagination like hers, Victoria Myrthil’s career is very bright. Watch out Beyoncé! … Ahem, she would like to strike that from her bio, sorry Beygency.  She is thankful for all the blessings given by God and she is honored and proud to share with you, her talents.

Alen was born in the small mountainous town of Gusinje, Montenegro, a tiny country tucked away in Southeastern Europe (known then as Yugoslavia). After moving to New York City at the age of three, he and his family were forced to assimilate into an American way of life. His education led him to graduating summa cum laude from Stony Brook University in 2010, with B.S. degrees in Business Management/Finance and Economics. It wasn't until his final semester at university that he took an acting course and realized his true passion.

Upon graduating, he sought out acting schools in the region and settled on the highly esteemed William Esper Studio in Manhattan, where he spent two intense years studying and learning the craft.

Since his graduation from the acting program in 2012, Alen has appeared in many films and stage productions, and has been involved with three different theatre companies.

Meghan Ginley Leading Lady

I'm an actor, teacher, and funny girl in New York City.

I was proudly born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA where I was a competition dancer from the age of 5.  I went on to study and graduate from Point Park University with a BFA in Acting in 2012.

I moved to NYC in 2012, and have performed off-Broadway and toured the country in a national tour.

I just finished filming a new online show "WINK" and I wrapped up a contract with Fashion Academy the Musical off-Broadway and am working on growing my own business: actingUP Creative Arts!  I am now teaching Social Studies and Theater full-time at Good Shepherd School in Inwood, NYC.

This May, I'll be performing in "Six Characters in Search of an Author" with Wise Fish Theater Collective.

Conrad Shaw Leading Man

Conrad is a New York-based film and stage actor and screenwriter. He is a graduate of the two-year Meisner training program at the William Esper Studio in midtown Manhattan.

Originally from Colorado, he earned a bachelor's and a few years experience as a mechanical engineer before finding his calling in the world of film and stage. For Conrad, missiles and satellites are cool, but storytelling is vital.

He also spent a large part of his youth as a fiercely competitive athlete in wrestling, soccer, rock climbing, acrobatics, and trail running, among others. He plays the piano and sings a decent tenor as well.

Carmen Borla Madame Pace

Carmen Borla is an actress, singer, dancer from Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Martina Bonolis is an actress, director, and comedienne based in NYC. A former acting apprentice at the Actors Theatre of Louisville, Martina has since founded The Wise Fish Theater Collective, of which she is the Creative Director. She acts on stage and in film.
