ADRIFT

Genre: Comedy
Original Concept by Jamie Maloney, Directed by Marc Adam Smith

One month ago the Cruise liner Ted McGinley lost power. No one has come to its rescue. Join the passengers, crew and entertainment staff as they improvise their new life "Adrift"!

Winner of the 2014 SHITFA (Supreme Honorary Improvised Theater & Film Award) for Outstanding Genre Performance (THE SCARY, Improvised Stephen King), IRTE, the Improvisational Repertory Theatre Ensemble, invites you to set sail with Adrift.

Come see the comedy theatre company whose previous show was called "so much fun...comedic brilliance"  (Susanne Pinedo, Pinedo PR) and an "amazing improv super-crew." (Roberto Tobar, Comedy Blogger)

The NYC-based ensemble of comedy performers returns with its own unique brand of original themed, character-driven improvisational shows performed in rep. April 4th, IRTE opens its second show of the season, Adrift.

Adrift, directed by Marc Adam Smith (Former Artistic Director, Gotham City Improv; San Francisco Improv Festival), is a live improvised comedy set aboard a stranded cruise liner. Watch the comic mayhem unfold as civilization takes a back seat to survival in this Love Boat meets Lord of the Flies spectacle.

IRTE’s ship manifest includes Artistic Director Nannette Deasy and IRTE Ensemble Robert Baumgardner, Curt Dixon, and Jamie Maloney. They will be joined by guest performers Evie Aronson (TruTV, HBO Films, Frigid Fest NY) and Jeffrey O'Leary (IRTE Ensemble 2013, original series Principal O'Leary).  The group’s collective credits include off-Broadway theater, national tours and feature film.

Each show will include appearances by talented up and comers from the NY indie music scene. For Adrift, they will be joined by Mary Knapp (April 4), ReW STaRR (April 11), and David Jay (April 18)
