THE IMBIBLE: A SPIRITED HISTORY OF DRINKING

Genre: Comedy, Musical
Written by Anthony Caporale, directed by Nicole DiMattei.

The drinks are on us as you join world-renowned mixologist and raconteur Anthony Caporale for a boozy romp through the history of spirits and cocktails in this critically-acclaimed, smash-hit comedy with drinks and music!  Tickets include 3 craft cocktails!

The Huffington Post proclaims "The Imbible" is "an absolute must-see!"

Following in the footsteps of hit comedy-edutainment shows like "Assume the Position" with Mr. Wuhl and Colin Quinn's "Long Story Short," "The Imbible" sweeps audiences along a 10,000-year journey through history and across the globe accompanied by craft cocktails and the vocal stylings of The Backwaiters acapella group! Sit back and enjoy the music and drinks while Anthony holds forth on the history and science behind alcoholic beverages, traces their economic and political impact on our cultural development, conducts live demonstrations of brewing beer and distilling spirits, guides the audience through cocktail tastings, and - like any good bartender - keeps his guests laughing throughout the night! Combining Anthony's encyclopedic knowledge of beverage history and decades of bartending experience with his legendary skills as a storyteller and entertainer, "The Imbible" treats audiences to a completely original and thoroughly enjoyable evening of theatre utterly unlike anything they've ever experienced!

"Remarkably compelling!" raves Time Out New York, giving the show four stars and making it a Critics' Pick!

About the Company: Broadway Theatre Studio

BTS was founded in 2009 as a development workshop and incubator for new American plays and musicals. We sponsor table readings of selected scripts using our Resident Company of actors, then work with the best pieces to produce staged readings. Outstanding works may be optioned and developed for a full production backed by our producers and creative team, both independently and in festivals throughout New York City. Our BTS Academy also offers classes and coaching sessions to help develop current and prospective members of our Resident Company.

Hundreds of actors have attended BTS workshops over the last five years, and we have had the privilege of collaborating with some of the best new writing talent in New York. Past projects have included renowned playwright Jack Feldstein’s new comedy The Ansonia, award-winning playwright/composer Zoe Sarnak’s original musical The Quad, and bestselling author Nicole DiMattei’s festival-pick On The Uptown 2 Express Train. Last season, BTS produced original works in both the Manhattan Repertory Theatre One-Act Play Competition and the Strawberry One-Act Festival, advancing to the finals in the latter while earning a Best Actress nomination along the way.
