When an aimless former rock star loses his job and finds himself broke with nowhere to go, he's forced to move in with his adopted son and roommate in their cramped New York City apartment. As the two of them try to forge new lives together, a get-rich-quick scheme further complicates their lives and loves.
Lesser America will present the World Premiere of Lucas Kavner’s (Fish Eye with Colt Coeur/HERE Arts Center; Love Money at Ars Nova) Carnival Kids, June 5-28 at TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue). The production will be directed by Stephen Brackett (Buyer and Cellar at Barrow Street) with Assistant Director Drew Foster. The cast will feature Jake Choi (Unforgettable), Danelle Eliav (Emoticon ;), When in Disgrace at St. Clements), Max Jenkins* (Unnatural Acts at CSC; High Maintenance), Randall Newsome* (A Touch of the Poet with Roundabout; The Heart is a Lonely Hunter at New York Theatre Workshop) and Laura Ramadei (American River with Lesser America; Year of the Rooser with EST/Youngblood). The creative team will include Sound Design by Janie Bullard (Scarcity at Rattlestick), Lighting Design by Amith Chandrashaker (Associate on Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812), Costume Design by Tristan Raines (The Management’s House of Von Macrame), and Set Design by Meredith Ries (The Wong Kids In The Secret of the Space Chupacabra Go! with Ma-Yi).
