Based on the Opera Carmen, Carmen Loisaida is a powerful story of Latino legal and illegal immigrants trying to survive in a world where human solidarity becomes the only way to salvage their dreams and aspirations. For this production Bizet's music has been arranged into salsa, merengue and other Latin rhythms making dancing the only space where the characters find both their pathos and redemption.
