Accidents Waiting to Happen tells the story of Ernesto a teenager who works at a supermarket near you. He tries to prepare himself for fatherhood while his pregnant teenage girlfriend, Eunice, demands his emotional availability and Bryers Ice Cream (her parents won't help con nada -"You break it, you buy it"). When Ernesto enters into a risky arrangement with a male customer, things become explosive.

Jonathan Libman (playwright) is a playwright and director born and raised near Penn Station in New York City. His plays include ACCIDENTS WAITING TO HAPPEN, PLEASE LEAVE THE LIGHT ON (Seven Devils Playwriting Conference Finalist), THE METRO SECTION, THE MEN UPSTAIRS, LIFE DRAWING AND THE HUMAN BODY, SELF-GENERATED FRICTION, and many more one acts and short plays. Jonathan's work has been performed at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, New Dramatists, The Actors Studio, Provincetown Playhouse, Cherry Lane, The Medicine Show, and The Slipper Room. An excerpt of his full-length play PLEASE LEAVE THE LIGHT ON was presented in Barefoot Theatre Company's ROCKAWAY, a collection of plays to benefit Hurricane Sandy Victims. It featured Craig "muMs" Grant, Arthur Kriklivy, Amelia Campbell-Arkin, and was presented alongside some of New York's City's best playwrights including Stephen Adly Guirgis, Jose Rivera, Lyle Kessler, Jesse Eisenberg, and many more. Jonathan is a member of the Actors Studio Playwrights/Directors Unit, was a participant of The 24 Seven Lab, and has been a Resident Playwright at Stable Cable Lab Co., Barefoot Theater Company, and currently, the Dramatic Question Theater. Stephanie Yankwitt (director) is a Director, Casting Director and New York City based Professor with NYU's Tisch School of the Arts at the Stella Adler Studio.Past directing projects include THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL by Horton Foote and ROUNDING THIRD by Richard Dresser, both at the Hangar Theatre, OUR LADY OF 121ST STREET by Stephen Adly Guirgis (North Carolina premiere), and the premieres of THIS IS A COWBOY POEM MY DADDY TAUGHT ME by Katie Bender (Abingdon Theatre Company/Cardinal Group Prods), and LETTERS TO THE END OF THE WORLD by Anton Dudley at Stella Adler Studio. In addition, Stephanie has served as Associate Director on Broadway of the world premiere of NOVEMBER and the most recent revival of AMERICAN BUFFALO, both by David Mamet, THE RECEPTIONIST by Adam Bock (MTC), and ALL THAT I WILL EVER BE by Alan Ball (NYTW). Stephanie has directed multiple children's shows including the National Tour of NATE THE GREAT for Theatreworks USA, and IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A COOKIE for the Hangar Theatre's nationally recognized Theatre for Young Audience program called KIDDStuff. As a Casting Director, Stephanie has worked with the extraordinary talents of Tara Rubin and Bernie Telsey on projects that currently include: HAMLET at Yale Rep Theatre starring Paul Giamatti, THE HEIRESS on Broadway starring Jessica Chastain & David Strathairn, and the upcoming Broadway premiere of A TIME TO KILL based on the John Grisham novel. Past casting credits include the films ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, RENT, THEN SHE FOUND ME, DAN IN REAL LIFE, LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS and the Broadway revivals of THREE DAYS OF RAIN, THE ODD COUPLE, and GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS. Stephanie is on the advisory board of Paper Lantern Theatre Company, in Greensboro, NC.
