“Briggs' music is slick and entertaining!” – Variety

New York – Hollywood! Hollywood! is a happy, fun-filled musical journey following the lives of Ryan, a handsome auto-mechanic; Melanie, a pretty waitress; Claire, an office-temp; Trudy, a cosmetics saleswoman; Jay, an entertainer for all occasions, and their friends, Orlando, Armando, Eva, Toledo, Amanda and Concepción—all pursuing their dreams of becoming paid actors in the Hollywood film industry. We then meet Laura Tanner, Hollywood’s most glamorous movie star who is making appearances all over town. She's promoting her new autobiography with hired escort, Vincent the Magnificent—the hunky, ex-Chippendale dancer, and Freddy, her publisher and the one true love of her life. Through song and dance, laughter and tears, joy and sorrow they all come together to tell their tales in the exciting new musical, Hollywood! Hollywood!

About the Company: Write Act Repertory

Mission Statement & Philosophy

Write Act Repertory is a membership-based organization whose artist members include Writers, Actors, Directors, Designers and Technical Personnel. Write Act Rep specializes and is dedicated to the development of original plays, lesser known works by established writers, adaptations of classical-themed materials and musicals. Write Act Rep also produces rarely seen works or Los Angeles premieres. Along with our repertory season, Write Act Rep enriches the lives of the multi-cultural community of Los Angeles through our outreach programs with several other non-profit organizations, theatrical or academic, creating a positive educational and artistic impact within the community. Currently, one of Write Act Rep's outlets provides members the opportunity to produce and create original scripts developed exclusively for the resident professional artists in the membership. We encourage the artists through the continued engagement and immersion in an environment of artistic safety, to forward the company's mission as well as their own personal goals in the entertainment field. By providing an atmosphere of mutual respect for every discipline and area of live theatrical presentation, we have become one of the most diverse theatre companies in LA. Write Act Repertory continues to enrich the lives of Los Angeles theatre artists, our patrons, and the multi-cultural community through our innovative programming, and by providing rental space and rehearsal time to our other fellow theatre producers.
