Sabrina Thomas Deena Jones

is a senior at York College working towards her B.A in Speech Communication/Theatre Arts.  Her past productions include: FAME, The Musical (Ms. Bell), Macbeth (Lady Macbeth) and RENT (Mimi Marquez).  Sabrina is a well known student at the Brooklyn Conservatory of the Arts where she studied the piano and voice for multiple years.  In the near future she aspires to pursue a career in musical theatre.  Sabrina lives by this motto, " life beats down and crushes the soul, and art remind you that you have one.” - Stella Adler.

Shakeerah Fredericks Lorrell Robinson

is a sophomore at York College majoring in Journalism with a minor in Theatre Arts.  Within her first year in the Theatre at York College, Ms. Fredericks won both the Best Female Dancer and the Best Actress titles at the 2012 York College Theatre Awards ceremony, for her performances in the Red Shoes productions of Once Upon a Timeand A Tribute to the Greats, and in the Drama Royals production of subUrbia by Eric Bogosian. Shakeerah is the current Vice President of the Red Shoes Club, involved with Renaissance Education Music and Sports in the Bronx for their vocal classes and their live teen show, Teens Live to Tape.  She is thrilled to have the opportunity to show her versatility in Dreamgirls. 

Gabrielle Calixte Effie White

is a graduate of York College. She holds a B.A. in Speech Communications/Theatre Arts.  She is an actor and vocalist.  Gabby, as she is affectionately known, has been featured in several Off Off-Broadway productions including RENTLittle Shop of HorrorsSpeak OutThe Stronger, and The Piano Lesson.  Most recently she has performed for a group of delegates in the US Congress and Senate.  Gabby will be working on several productions later on this year and lives by the motto, "If you don't build your dream someone will hire you to help build theirs." 

Saisha Pringle Michelle Morris

is currently attending Professional Performing Arts High School in Manhattan, with a major in Vocal Music.  Saisha has been performing since the age of 3, dancing for Theater of Dance Movement and Hollis Presbyterian Church Tabernacles of Praise Liturgical Dance Ministry.  Saisha has been singing since 7th grade and studying vocal music privately under the direction of Ms. Gail Hightower/Hightower Music.  She has performed for Mayor Bloomberg, The National Action Network for Al Sharpton and David Dinkins, Carnegie Hall accompanying the Winans, Fred Hammond and Shirley Caesar, at Lincoln Center, Apollo Theater and for Battle Cry at the Izod Center Meadowlands arena, Lincoln Center with the Ron Critchlow Gospel Ensemble. She is a member of the The National Association of Negro Musicians. Some of her past performances include roles in The WIZ,Little Shop of Horrors and Annie (under the direction of Tony Award winner Ben Harney).  Saisha is also currently interning for the Clive Davis Future Music Moguls Internship program at NYU.  Her future goal is to become a worldwide professional entertainer/artist.

Erick Carter James “Thunder” Early

was born and raised in Abilene, Texas and is excited to be back on the York College stage.  He graduated with a BFA in Theatre from Abilene Christian University in 2011 and decided to make the move to New York. Some of his favorite roles include Benny in RENT, Seaweed in Hairspray and a Wickersham Brother in Seussical.  Erick would like to thank his family for their continued support, the cast and director for bringing to life such an influential show, and everyone coming to see the show for supporting York College and supporting the Arts! 

Shatiek Johnson Curtis Taylor Jr.

is an upper junior at York College (CUNY) majoring in Psychology (focusing on Childhood Development) with a minor Theatre Arts.  His last production was York College Theatre’s, La Puce a l’Oreille (A Flea in Her Ear).   Dreamgirls will be his third production at York College.  Shatiek hopes to use his degree in Psychology to work in parole management with young people coming out of jail and to redirect them in the right direction so they won’t return.  Using his minor in theatre, Shatiek would love to work backstage on theatre productions in the area of Stage Management.  He is very grateful for this opportunity and would like to thank all of his supporters. 

Randy Houston C.C. White

is a vocalist, fashion designer and journalist—he does it all.  Randy draws his inspiration from a motivating family and sings from his heart.  Mr. Houston is a native New Yorker and a former runway model, with an eye for fashion unlike no other.  At 22, he has already accomplished so much and it is only the beginning. 

Stephen Pink Marty

is a junior at York College.  Mr. Pink has a tremendous passion for singing and dancing and has found nothing more satisfying. He believes that he can achieve the impossible because of his talents.  After graduating, Stephen wants pursue his Masters of Fine Arts and eventually become a college professor.  Because of his love for the arts and for children, he would like to open a performing arts center for dance, voice and acting.  Some of his past performances include: RENTFAME The MusicalThe Red ShoesWest Side Story and All Shook Up.

Amina Alexander Step Sister, Les Styles & Female Ensemble

is delighted to be cast in the York College production of Dreamgirls.  Amina has participated in many vocal and choir shows throughout her years of attending the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, including The Harlem Stage presentation of Too Hot Too Handle.  Past stage credits include: Off-Off Broadway productions of Run That Back and Visiting Ours, presented by the Tuesday/Thursday cast of The Possibility Project.  Not only has she co- starred in Visiting Ours, she also co-wrote the original musical with the help of her fellow cast.  Amina is currently a Communications Technology major at York College and hopes to continue her music and performing career.  She would like to thank everyone who made this production possible, including her friends and family.

Eliza Bostic Step Sister & Female Ensemble

is a junior at York College majoring in English with a minor in Theater Arts.  Eliza has been singing since she can remember and started studying dance in high school.  She has previously performed in the York College's Dance Club, The Red Shoes and is making her theatrical debut in Dreamgirls Eliza hopes to pursue acting, as well as writing, in the future.  She is so glad to have had the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast on her first production.

Guerschom Dieurine M.C., Announcer, Film Exec. & Male Ensemble

is an upper junior majoring in Speech Communication/Theatre Arts.  Upon receiving the call from his agent that he was cast inDreamgirls, Guerschom decided to postpone the release of his mix-tape and focus on this show.  He has been featured in past plays such as The Tempest and the big hit of Fall 2012,  A Flea In Her Ear. He enjoys activities such as eating, watching shows that involve food or talking about food. 

Ahmaad Harris Wayne, Jerry Norman, Dwight & Male Ensemble

is from Brooklyn, New York and has been destined for a life of stages, studios and success.  Along with acquiring his B.A. in Sociology from York College, Ahmaad has been building a foundation for making his dreams a reality.  Releasing three successful R&B mix-tapes online and being cast in two cable television pilots, Ahmaad continues to work even harder on his craft and brand.  By gaining over 25,000 followers on Twitter and over 50,000 total YouTube views, it shows that the following for Ahmaad is growing.  He plans to follow in the footsteps of his inspirations: Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, NaS and Tupac Shakur. He dedicates this performance to his late grandfather Leon Phillips.

Nakaiiya Humes Joann, Les Styles, Lorrell Understudy & Female Ensemble

is a junior at York College majoring in Sociology with a minor in Theatre Arts.  She has always had a great love for theatre and this is her second appearance on the York College stage.  Her previous roles include: RENT (Ensemble),South Pacific (Nellie Forbush) and Guys and Dolls (Miss Adelaide).  Ms. Humes has also performed at many York College events which include: The Mr. & Ms. York College Pageant, where she won the crown for her one woman show of singing, dancing, and acting, Johnny Stole My Heart.

Paulana Lamonier Step Sister & Female Ensemble

is an upper senior majoring in Journalism with a minor in English. Her love for music started when she began singing in her church choir called Resurrected.  However, she decided to not delve into her music career and focused on becoming a journalist instead.  Not only is she the online editor for York College's award-winning newspaper, Pandora's Box, she is also the vice-president of the York College chapter of the National Association of Black Journalist and the captain of the York College swim team.  Paulana's love for music has brought her to this production and she would like to thank Prof. Quash, and Prof. Amrhein for giving her this opportunity.

Emmanuel Milfort Mr. Morgan, Male Ensemble & C.C. Understudy

is an upper junior at John Jay (CUNY) majoring in English.  Finding his passion in singing, he is currently a member of the Praise and Worship team and the Assistant Choir Conductor at his local church.  Manny has been a part of numerous Christian based productions and this is his debut in a York College Theatre production.  He is excited about working with the cast and being part of the York Theatre family.  After Dreamgirls, he hopes to do more musicals that will fuel his passion and showcase his talents.

Bukola Ogunmola Charlene, Film Exec., Stage Manager & Female Ensemble

is a recent York College graduate with a degree in Marketing. She has been involved in many York College Theater Productions. Past credits include SlapdashThe TempestDon Juan in ChicagoCVR, and her latest performance in A Flea in Her Ear this past fall. Bukola is excited for the opportunity to be on the York College stage again. She's is very grateful and feels blessed to be working on this wonderful script with such a talented cast of actors. 

Dominique Prophete Female Ensemble

is an Accounting major at Queens College with a soon-to-be minor in Theatre and Music.  Acting has been a great passion for Dominique since she started ministering with S.I.C. Drama Ministries in many roles.  To have this opportunity to be cast in Dreamgirlsis an amazing experience.  Dominique has been a choir conductor with New Vision at Bethany Baptist Church for a little over 6 years and is now the new praise and worship leader, so singing with great power and heart is always what she stood for.  She was always great with harmonizing notes and keys and being part of Dreamgirls has made her excited for the greater opportunities that are in store for her in the future.  She couldn’t have done this without her family, church family and above all God!!  Her advice to all the dreamers out there is, “Get FEARLESS and INVEST in your DREAMS!!! Never let your PASSION die!!”

Alvaro Rivera Frank, Film Exec. & Male Ensemble

is an aspiring artist with many talents such as acting, singing, sketching and writing.  He dreams of one day taking the role of Fiyero inWicked as his own, releasing an album and having one of his written shows preformed. His high school productions have been Urban Cafe (Smokey Joe's Cafe re-write) as Charlie Brown, Racism as Luis, Everything Old Is New Again as Michael and Sammy. Last year he starred as Jeff in Eric Bogosian's SubUrbia. This is his second show for York College and he hopes you enjoy all the hard work the cast has done. 

Tiffany Salmon Step Sister, Fan & Female Ensemble

is a Brooklyn native.  At a young age she realized her passion for performing.  She's been taking dance, vocal and acting lessons ever since.  A senior now at York College, Tiffany plans to pursue this passion and perfect the talents that she's been blessed with.  

Declan Mcpherson Male Ensemble, Security Guard & James Early Understudy

is a graduate of Brooklyn College with a M.A. in Political Science concentrating in American Politics.  He is happy to resume his acting career with this production.  His past credits include Pippin, Lysistrata and The Crucible. He thanks his mother and family for continually supporting his dream.  Also, he would like to thank Professor Amrhein, Professor Quash and the rest of the Dreamgirls cast and crew for making this such an enjoyable experience.
