MONTERA

Genre: Solo Performance
Written by: Loren Escandon Directed by: Marisol Rozo

MONTERA, is a human analysis of the oldest profession throughout history and the most dehumanized profession in contemporary times (prostitution). The character, La Guiri,  in a comical and fearless way stimulates your perception about the values in society, taking as a staring point her profession. She shows you that there is a part of the life that cannot be modified, that it needs just to be accepted, not with submission but with courage.

The Physicality in this play is a character itself. La Guiri’s journey is a compelling story told not just with words, but with dance and music. The character’s versatility creates a beautiful contrast between heart and fun that it is irresistible. Music, the other character of this play, is mixed and composed by DJ Walter Miller. Mr. Miller, a Newyorican, has created the perfect match between Urban sounds and mix of Latino music, fulfilling MONTERA with dynamism. MONTERA is a show with an irresistible combination of Acting, Dance and Music that makes this 65 minutes play a delight to everyone.
