THE VIRILOGY: A DRINKING GAME

Genre: Comedy
Written by Ben Clawson, Directed by Artem Yatsunov

Horse Trade Theater Group will present StrangeDog Theatre Company’s production of Ben Clawson’s (Claire Went to France with Horse Trade; recipient of the Kennedy Center’s David Mark Cohen Award) THE VIRILOGY. The production will be directed by Artem Yatsunov (Bootstraps at Luna Stage Company; Claire Went to France at UNDER St. Marks) and will feature Scott Cagney, David Murgittroyd*, and Alejandro Hernandez. *Appearing courtesy of the Actors’ Equity Association.

Step one: Come see the show. Step two: Pick a character. Step three: When the character drinks, so do you!  Can you make it through the night? The Virilogy is three one-act comedies (or one three-act tragedy), spanning a decade in the lives of the world’s worst best friends. Throughout the night the boys will attempt to discover how to be heart-broken, how to be a man, how to be a friend, and how to fail miserably at all of the above.

About the Company: StrangeDog Theatre Company

STRANGE DOG THEATRE COMPANY has performed in cramped cafes, noisy bars, abandoned warehouses, crowded restaurants and some well-known regional playhouses. They have developed a large repertoire of work over these past couple years – from a slew of carefully constructed evenings of short comedies to premieres of full-length plays. StrangeDog has been striving to bring its stories to established theaters with their experienced theatergoers. Yet we also endeavor to expose new audiences to our particular brand of outlandish comedy and biting drama in venues where they would expect it least. Essentially, StrangeDog is creating plays for people who mistakenly think they don’t like plays.
