Anyone who’s ever felt a little overwhelmed by the challenges of producing can take comfort, because help is here. Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) offers you the step-by-step guidance you need to succeed with the TRU PRODUCER BOOT CAMP: Weekend Intensive for Showcase Producing on Saturday, May 19th and Sunday, May 20th, 2012. The comprehensive workshop runs from 10am-6pm each day at the Players Theatre, 3rd Floor Loft, 115 MacDougal Street, NYC.
Now in its fourth year, the intensive offers basic training for producers producing at the reading and Equity Showcase levels with a specific focus on producing in upcoming summer festivals. Keynote speakers will include Broadway producer Ken Waissman (Grease, Agnes of God, Torch Song Trilogy) and a phenomenal lineup of experts covering everything from Production Timeline and Budgeting to Raising Money and Marketing. Every aspect of showcase producing will be broken down into easy-to-understand step-by-step modules by producers Jane Dubin, Jeremy Handelman and Patricia Klausner; entertainment attorney Erach Screwvala; financial advisor Bailie Slevin; marketing consultant Ciara Pressler and other top professionals.
“Incredibly informative. My mind is still buzzing with all the information gleaned and ideas shared. I am not new to theater but new to self-producing and the weekend really helped crystallize for me a side of the business that always seemed mysterious to me. I received very practical tools and information about self-producing…. This program would be good for newbie and novice alike.” ~ Gwen Reitz
“The info was valuable. The speakers were great.” ~ Mary Kay Wolf
“We learned so much and left feeling uplifted, not only about what we were doing for our company at present, but about what we could do in the future. … It was a perfect springboard for the work that awaits us all.” ~ Bob Combe, Annie Wolf (E Phoenix Idealis Theater)
