What happens when a New York bred comedy duo teams up with a multi-award-winning Montreal based sketch comedy troupe? A Future Party! In this night of double-bill comedy, James & JF offer up Channel One, a show that begs the question, “when?” and answers it with “The Future”; and Uncalled For answers the question, “where’s the party?” with “here” in Today is All of Your Birthdays.

Channel One is TV as performed by the last two people on earth. Let us explain. We are the last two people left in the whole world. Let us explain. We escaped the end of civilization in a time machine only to land in a very lonely future. We then created our own version of TV shows to entertain ourselves -we can't explain- but wind up performing them to unexpected time traveling audiences. Channel One is our television channel. It’s the only one left. This show has been called "a blast of exuberant nonsense... brave new theater" (Edmonton Sun), “f***ing hilarious” (The Blog of Jenna Rocca (Toronto)), brought to you by the duo said to have “winning comedic timing” by The Happiest Medium (NYC).

Today Is All Your Birthdays is a comedic, philosophical, sci-fi take on birth, death, time travel, Darwin’s theory of evolution, hypnotism, sandwiches and the meaning of life. Far away from the "set-up, punchline, blackout" sketch comedy universe, Birthdays is intelligent, theatrical, free-flowing, stream-of-consciousness hilarity that doesn’t bother with vulgarity or cynicism. It’s a sparkler of a comedy show, "relentlessly smart, original and outrageous" (Victoria Times-Colonist) from the company that PLANK Magazine called “one of the most innovative and reliable sketch troupes in the country.”

Channel Oneis written and performed by James & JF, aka Emily James and Ishah Janssen-Faith. Emily and Ishah trained in improv at Upright Citizens Brigade NYC and The Magnet Theater; and in clown with Philippe Gaulier, David Shiner, Mick Barnfather (of Theatre de Complicite), Aitor Basauri (of Spymonkey) and Avner Eisenberg. Separately, they have been making theater and performance art for the last ten years across the nation and abroad. Together, they have performed Channel One for two years in NYC, at the Toronto & Edmonton Fringe Festivals and the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival. More info on company: www.jamesandjf.com
