Genre: Classical, Drama
Written by William Shakespeare, Directed by Michael Hagins

TND Productions presents The Merchant of Venice. Director Michael Hagins brings Shakespeare's story of prejudice and revenge to the live stage at Beckmann Theatre at the American Theatre of Actors.

The Merchant of Venice is the story of Antonio (Steve Walker) a Venetian merchant who loans money to his best friend Bassanio (Nathan Veazey) to earn the opportunity to woo the lovely heiress Portia (Sonia Hebe). However, a serie...s of misfortunes lead Antonio to owe the money to the unscrupulous Jewish lender Shylock (Henri Douvry), and nothing will stop him from collecting the interest agreed upon - a pound of flesh from Antonio's chest. Shakespeare's story of prejudice and revenge contains many elements of comedy, drama and of course, love - hopefully - triumphant!
