6 GUITARS

Genre: Comedy, Solo Performance
Written by Chase Padgett and Jay Hopkins, Directed by Jay Hopkins

If you like music you will love this show! 6 Guitars is guitar slinging heartfelt comedy. It premiered at the 2010 Orlando International Fringe Festival where it won Producer of the Year, Best in Venue, Best Musician, Best Solo Show, Best Original Play and Best Male Performer. The Orlando Sentinel wrote, "It's just one guy - and one guitar - but it's amazing!" At the Edmonton Fringe Festival, North America’s largest, it was 1 of a handful of shows chosen from 185 for 2 holdover performances in a 300 seat venue – both sold out. The Edmonton sun said “5 Stars. The hour-long play will leave you doing two things: laughing until you cry, and lifting your jaw to its proper position.”

Chase Padgett delivers a tour de force performance as he becomes 6 different guitar players each with their own voice, views and music while also playing standard and original songs in the styles of Blues, Jazz, Rock, Classical, Folk and Country. The show takes the audience along each character's first introduction to the music they love, the lessons they've learned through music along the way and finally what the true importance of music really is to us all. It’s sure to make you laugh, love and tap your toes the whole way through.

Chase Padgett has been professionally performing since 2004. He has a BA in Music from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights, I think!) In addition to commercials and various voice overs, Chase has performed in various roles for Disney and Universal and is an ensemble member of the SAK Comedy Lab in Orlando, FL. He has also studied improv at the world renowned iO theatre in Chicago. His career as a musician started when he first picked up the trumpet at 8 years old. At 16 he started learning the guitar and immediately stopped giving a crap about trumpet. Nothing personal, trumpet, but I can’t sing and play you at the same time. Chase has also performed this show all over North America and even the Edinburgh Fringe Fest in Scotland. He is literally living his dream and thanks you for supporting it. Seriously, thank you!
