Muzungu explores the unseen motives in doing good and unexpected consequences of lending a helping hand.

Nneoma Nkuku Mattie

Nneoma Nkuku is honored to deliver the story of Muzungu. Nneoma is a Chicago native Actor. She has studied and trained at DePaul University, CAP21, The Chicago Actor’s Studio, and Second City. TV credits include Boardwalk Empire, Blue Bloods, and Law and Order SVU. Stage Credits include The Crucible, A Long Time Since Yesterday, and Once on This Island. Ryan is Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape, originally from Southern New Jersey and Delaware. Upon graduating from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Ryan has acted in several plays by a wide range of writers including William Shakespeare, Bertolt Brecht, Jean Baptiste Poquelin Moliere, and Terrence McNally. Ryan has performed professionally in readings, staged readings, and full productions at such New York City institutions as: The Public Theater, New York Theater Workshop, New Dramatists, and New York City Opera at Lincoln Center.In addition, Ryan has devoted much of the last several years in participating in and helping to develop indigenous plays with such organizations as the American Indian Community House of New York City, Amerinda, and the Australian Aboriginal Theater Initiative. He has performed in many of these presentations at such varied venues as LaMaMa E.T.C. and the United Nations. In 2008, Ryan partnered up with Danielle Soames to help found Mixed Phoenix Theatre Group. With Mixed Phoenix, Ryan has performed in the readings and staged readings of "Carlisle - A Different Three Sisters" by Myrton Running Wolf, "I Stand Corrected" by Akin Salawu, "Wide Blossoms" by Elise Marenson, "Muzungu" by David Myers, as well as the performing arts project, "Mission."
