SEASCAPE WITH SHARKS AND DANCER

Genre: Comedy, Drama
Written by Don Nigro, Directed by Scott Lakoff & Thomas James Lombardo

This work is from Don Nigro's Pendragon cycle of plays.  Ben, a writer, pulls a young woman from the ocean. He takes her to his nearby bungalow to recuperate and gets more than he bargained for. Tracy is a rude houseguest, and denies that she needed rescuing at all. Ben still finds himself drawn to her despite her strange & uncompromising nature. The pair become closer as the scene is set for a romantic comedy. The play, like Tracy herself, defies expectations and goes deeper; exploring the ways in which we sabotage our own desires. Tracy feels trapped in Ben's world, and fears that their budding relationship can't last. Ben cannot seem to convince Tracy that his love will last, and the two become locked in struggle to overcome her suspicions. Tracy is certain that all human relationships must eventually turn into nightmares. Will Ben's tolerance and love be enough to overcome Tracy's insecurities and win her heart? Their tempestuous relationship demonstrates the ways in which love can become war, and it's a battle that neither Ben or Tracy can afford to lose.
