The Shadow Box is a Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play that dares to start a conversation about our life and what it means to be living while you prepare to die. Set on the grounds of a hospice in the woods, three stories unfold. Brian and his lover Mark receive a surprise visit from his ex-wife Beverly. Agnes is a woman who finds herself in the position of having to take care of an elderly parent. Joe must help his wife and son accept a life interrupted. At the core of this beautiful and timeless piece of theater is a message about embracing life to its fullest. Inspiring us to live and grasp every moment.

About the Company: BrainSpunk Theater

It is our mission to create a well rounded presentation of works that reflect the many diverse individuals that embody the LGBT community.

It is our belief that LGBT theater has been stigmatized in the mainstream culture, leaving many of our stories untold, unrepresented, and lacking a strong voice in our modern times. Therefore, we commit to explore LGBT subjects and materials that provoke discussion of difficult questions. To find works that show all facets of LGBT culture, including, but not limited to playwriting, performance, subject matter and technical theater representation.

We extend our commitment by pledging to encourage not only LGBT performers, but technicians and others working in the divergent aspects of theatrical production. To further our commitment, we will be incorporating philanthropic causes from the LGBT community on our agenda.

Our Stories. Our Lives. Our Time.
