Excited by the possibility of change, more than 132 million Americans voted in the 2008 presidential election. The same day, Californians voted to pass Proposition 8, which provides that "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized" in that state. Two Steps Forward follows gay couple Corey and Seth at this historic juncture. As Seth prepares for a major art opening in New York, the couple’s adopted son, Josh, returns home from college with a girlfriend. Also on hand are Josh's birth mother, the godmother who helped raise him, and a visiting aunt from California. The play is about the true definition of family and the ongoing struggle for civil rights.
Two Steps Forward stars Courtney Allen, Linda Elizabeth, Barbara Mundy, John Philip, Andrew Loren Resto, Brandon Ruckdashel, and Julia Yarwood.
