A troupe of immigrant actors share true “scenes from the cross” from Mexico to the U.S. through various theatrical forms, from French farce to Brechtian agitprop. The drama captures the struggles of settling in the contemporary United States and exposes the clash of romantic hopes and harsh reality. “Las escenas” makes its World Premiere with the 2009 Midtown International Theater Festival.
