PUNCH 59 is intelligent, irreverent sketch comedy that is never “dumbed down”, featuring original sketches and scathing parodies like “Duane Rude”, “Military Thespians”, and “I Woke Up Racist.”

PUNCH 59’s cast is Jen Ryan (NYCFringe Outstanding Performance Award), Rik Sansone, (“Summer ’69), Amir Darvish (“L&O”), Traci Hovel, (“30 Rock”), Carlos Espada (KISSNation), Marek Sapieyevski (“Easy Outs”), and Rebecca Lewis-Whitson.

February 10th special guests FAT PENGUIN perform improvised comedy with a commitment to high quality at low prices, and were finalists in the 2008 UCB Cage Match tournament. Fat Penguin's cast is Dave Bluvband, Bridget Fitzgerald, Johnny McNulty, Amber Nelson, Benjamin Ragheb, and Alan Starzinski.

(SAG/AEA; writer, director) is the author of the The Imaginary, All-True Leni Riefenstahl Show, a comedic two-hander about ‘Hitler's filmmaker; FringeNYC Outstanding Performance Award & "a must see Fringe Show" by New York Magazine. Credits include: Tartuffe (Off-B'way), Closer (American Regional Premiere; Carbonell Nominee for Best Actress), Scott Thompson's Lowest Show on Earth. Has apparently appeared in ommercials, unaired pilots, FM radio.
(SAG/AEA, writer, director, prop & program design) Off-B'way: The Imaginary, All-True Leni Riefenstahl Show (30+ roles, including Goebbels, Gable, Dietrich), Summer 69': The Musical Happening. Regional: Pony in the Eliot Norton Award winning Boston production of SubUrbia, , Dracula, Prices Right, The Rainmaker, To Kill a Mockingbird, Paul McCartney in The Silver Beetles (tribute band), and Biloxi Blues. Film & TV credits include: Love Potion #666, Torture Me No More, Playing By The Rules and The Nardo Boys, Discovery Channel, MTV, KISS, & the New York Mets. Rik is a talented illustrator and graphic designer.
Marek Sapieyevski came to NYC with the somewhat sensible idea of getting into the music industry but soon found himself defecting back over to the world of make-believe. He has performed as an actor, singer, and musician in numerous plays, operas, promotional events, and performance art ""happenings"" throughout the city and beyond, and is delighted tohave an opportunity to work with the other fantastic folks you see pictured here.

In the last four years, REBECCA LEWIS-WHITSON has been an actor, director, assistant director, stage manager, house manager, box office worker, usher, theatre critic, casting intern, graduate student, props master, and summer camp counselor for various off and off-off Broadway theatres, and one City University of New York. She recently got her MA in Theatre History and Criticism from Brooklyn College and will be working as a director for the upcoming Winter 2008 Writer/Director Forum at The Looking Glass Theatre in upcoming months. In her free time she enjoys eating things, drinking things, reading things, walking places, going to the theatre, going to sleep, monkeys, and poking people (both on facebook and with an elongated digit). She is both pleased as punch and tickled pink to perform with Punch 59.
 

Traci is making her PUNCH 59 debut! She has apppeared in a slew of national commericals and on "30 Rock", "Law & Order" and "Hope and Faith".

CARLOS ESPADA is currently a free lance consultant for several international toy & musical instrument companies. He has previouslyworked for ART ASYLUM, as a P.R person & then later as a Shop Manager, working on such toy lines as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Eminem, Alice Cooper, Dark Angel, etc… and supervising the production of KISS toy lines. Carlos also plays Gene Simmons in the New York City based KISS tribute band, KISSNATION.

Amir Darvish – Amir is pleased to be working with Cake Productions. Previous credits include: Best Actor Nomination for Higher Education, Taxi To Janna, Falling, Homeland, Shoes, Dinner with Ahmed, Monas Dream, SubUrbia and the critically acclaimed one man show Mercury. In addition to voice-over & commercial work, Amir has appeared in numerous a film & televisions productions including Month to Month, The Colbert Report, Charlie Wilsons War, Law & Order, Daily Show, Human Giant, Confessions, OpenCam, The Pink Panther, David Letterman, SpinCity, and The Unusuals among others.
