PUNCH 59 Sketch Comedy is intelligent, irreverent sketch comedy with NO IMPROV!

We are proud to feature "Movie, Movie", written by Thomas Meehan ("The Producers") as part of our show. Originally published in the New Yorker, "Movie, Movie" features the characters Bonnie and Clyde, who meet "in Coney Island; in shadows and fog", and their ensuing dialogue consists only of movie titles.

The cast is Jen Ryan (FringeNYC Outstanding Performance Award), Traci Hovel ("30 Rock"). Rik Sansone (Summer '69), Adam P. Murphy ("Easy Outs"), Marek Sapieyweski, and Rebecca Lewis-Whitson.

Tickets are available at the box-office day of show. Industry comps are always available.

(SAG/AEA; writer, director) is the author of the The Imaginary, All-True Leni Riefenstahl Show, a comedic two-hander about ‘Hitler's filmmaker; FringeNYC Outstanding Performance Award & "a must see Fringe Show" by New York Magazine. Credits include: Tartuffe (Off-B'way), Closer (American Regional Premiere; Carbonell Nominee for Best Actress), Scott Thompson's Lowest Show on Earth. Has apparently appeared in ommercials, unaired pilots, FM radio.
(SAG/AEA, writer, director, prop & program design) Off-B'way: The Imaginary, All-True Leni Riefenstahl Show (30+ roles, including Goebbels, Gable, Dietrich), Summer 69': The Musical Happening. Regional: Pony in the Eliot Norton Award winning Boston production of SubUrbia, , Dracula, Prices Right, The Rainmaker, To Kill a Mockingbird, Paul McCartney in The Silver Beetles (tribute band), and Biloxi Blues. Film & TV credits include: Love Potion #666, Torture Me No More, Playing By The Rules and The Nardo Boys, Discovery Channel, MTV, KISS, & the New York Mets. Rik is a talented illustrator and graphic designer.

Adam maintains a regular Off-Off-Broadway presence as an actor.  He most recently performed at the Kraine and Producers' Club theatres and at The Tank.  In July he will appear in an AEA showcase production of Irish comedy "Spreading the News" with Unity Stage Co. outdoors in Queens.  Adam has worked in TV, film, commercials, and voice-overs as well as sketch comedy (American Candy) and improv (Say What? NYC).

Traci is making her PUNCH 59 debut! She has apppeared in a slew of national commericals and on "30 Rock", "Law & Order" and "Hope and Faith".

In the last four years, REBECCA LEWIS-WHITSON has been an actor, director, assistant director, stage manager, house manager, box office worker, usher, theatre critic, casting intern, graduate student, props master, and summer camp counselor for various off and off-off Broadway theatres, and one City University of New York. She recently got her MA in Theatre History and Criticism from Brooklyn College and will be working as a director for the upcoming Winter 2008 Writer/Director Forum at The Looking Glass Theatre in upcoming months. In her free time she enjoys eating things, drinking things, reading things, walking places, going to the theatre, going to sleep, monkeys, and poking people (both on facebook and with an elongated digit). She is both pleased as punch and tickled pink to perform with Punch 59.
 

Marek Sapieyevski came to NYC with the somewhat sensible idea of getting into the music industry but soon found himself defecting back over to the world of make-believe. He has performed as an actor, singer, and musician in numerous plays, operas, promotional events, and performance art ""happenings"" throughout the city and beyond, and is delighted tohave an opportunity to work with the other fantastic folks you see pictured here.

Melisa has had leading roles in five independent feature films including *Women's Studies, Blood Brothers*, *Love Knot* and *Intersecting Truths*. has studied both in NY and London but is very happy to call NY her home. Jill's credits include: La Luz (48 hour film project), Lost Track (Winner, Best Short, New York Film Festival), Joan of Arc in Joan's Voices and Petra in Enemy of the People. Jill enjoys shopping in her spare time and fighting for a cure for leprosy.
