Book by Frederick McKinnon, Lyrics by Alan Baboff and Music by Fred Lederman

On September 9, 1986 the students and teachers arrive at Edgar Allen Poe High School with great anticipation about what "mysteries" the new term might unfold. Soon after, science teacher Nora Stevens keels over in front of her class while demonstrating a science experiment.

Interviewing both students and staff members, NYPD detectives Ava Lourd and Harry Fink set out to find clues leading to the murderer. As a list of suspects related to the victim emerges, another investigation is being conducted by two students—Hershal Myerdink, a fervent mystery reader, and Nancy Wright, a fervent Hershal admirer.

"Have No Mercy," a murder mystery musical, is performed by students and faculty of Herbert H. Lehman High School in the Bronx. The play contains ten original songs including: "The Teacher's Dead," "I Didn't Do It," "Everyone's a Suspect," "Blackmail," and "Proof Positive."
