Phare Play's 21 Hour Play Festival Back by Popular Demand

Take 5 writers - give them 12 hours to write a 15 page script (with a couple of surprises thrown in for fun!). Thrn they hand off to five directors who will be joined by 20 actors who are then given a mere 6 hours to rehearse before putting the show onstage - one night, two shows only! Truly a night of fun as you get to see which cast can pull it off - with an audience vote for awards like Best looking cast and Best use of a prop!

And bonus: it's superhero themed!

Amber Bloom is thrilled to be a part of who wears short shorts. Fresh out of the second run of the "hunny bunny hot box," she is ecstatic to actually get to wear more than just a bra and underwear in this performance. Favorite roles include Belinda Blair in "Noises Off" as well as the evil stepsister Florinda in "Into the Woods". She'd like to thank all of her awesome friends for their support and love.
Joey Brenneman is appearing for the first time on a Phare Play stage. She has done many other shows and done many other things with her life.
Axy Carrion is appearing on a Phare Play stage for the first time. She has acted in other shows and done many other things with her life.
Meg Cheng is incredibly excited to be a part of "Who Wears Short Shorts?" She was last seen onstage in the MeanBoy Production of "Analog Friend" which debuted at the 2007 Fringe Festival. A native of Northern California, she has been studying acting in New York City for the last 3 years. Her most recent film and TV credits include "Guiding Light" and the short film "Coming Home." She would like to give a great, big huggie to Manny and Miaka.

Molly Church is a graduate of the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School. After taking a small hiatus from the theater, she is thrilled to be back on stage again and working alongside Blake and with such a tremendous group of actors. Some favorite roles include Judy in Callback, Caddie in Snake in Fridge and Helena in an all-female production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She has also been featured in a handful of independent films, most recently Group Therapy and The Super Amazing Movie. And she is proud to have been cast in her first television show, working alongside Denis Leary in Rescue Me. Molly would like to thank her family and friends for their continuing support.

Isabella David is a French and American actress, dancer and singer, who studied drama and comparative literature at the University of Virginia. Since moving to NY, she has acted and danced in several plays including the role of Fair Witch in Phare Play's Dark of the Moon, an award-winning turn as Karma Galore in The Bad Plays Festival, Sarah Greer in What Really Frightens You? - soon to be released, and the lead dancer in a music video for the Boston band Common Thrill on youtube...Check it out!

Emily is elated to be back in the big apple after an exciting summer performing with Connecticut Free Shakespeare and participating in the Fall Conservatory at Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, MA. Most recently she has been seen performing as Margeret in Much Ado, Feste in Twelfth Night, and Mrs. Van Dann in a national tour of The Story of Anne Frank. Past Phare Play Productions include 12 Step Congo Line and Wombsgiving as well as two runs in their Who Wears Short Shorts 21 hour theater festivals. Emily would like to thank Christine for such a great opportunity and her friends and family for their unwavering support.

Elizabeth English (Mariner/Iris) is thrilled to be working with Phare Play again after participating in their delightful 24 hour play festival last month! Most recently, she appeared as Luther in "The Life and Times of Martin Luther" (Reformed) for FringeNYC, and worked as an Acting Intern with The Looking Glass Theatre. Elizabeth is a graduate of The Catholic University of America Drama Program. Favorite roles include: Mrs. Johnstone in "Blood Brothers", Countess de Lage in "The Women", Charisse in "The My House Play", and Lois Lane in "Kiss Me, Kate".

Erin Fehr is BACK! After a string of WWSS appearances, she had to take a breather during the last round, but she fully expects to be in the winning show this time around. This will be her fourth go around with them and can't wait to find out which "special skill" she will get to use this time . . . Thanks, Phare Play!

TJ Fix is thrilled to be working on "Who Wears Short Shorts". Previous off-off Broadway credits include: "Two Gentleman of Verona" (Manhattan Theatre Source), "Getting Home" (At Hand Theatre Co.) and "Alice Squared" (Sanford Meisner). He has also appeared with The Richmond Shakespeare Festival in "Comedy of Errors" and toured with The National Theatre for Children.
Kerri Ford has been performing since she was nine years old. Her dance skills, combined with her acting and vocal training, all compliment each other to make her a triple threat. While studying at NYU, Kerri found the joy in sharing all of this technique through teaching and decided to study both education and drama. She holds a BS in Educational Theatre, and is a certified NY State Theatre Educator (K-12). Her favorite performance credit's include Tina Thompson's Contmeporary Dance Fitness Visions (Tribecca PAC) , the musical 'Surf's Up' (Teaneck New Theatre), Barbie (Fairytopia), and 5X Wilder (Provincetown Playhouse). Jason Gaffney is thrilled to be a part of this project. He recently returned home to NYC after a long and fun summer out in MA. He did "42nd Street", "The King and I" and "Singin' In the Rain" with the Reagle Players in Waltham MA, and then did a tour with them called "Remembering the 40's". Earlier this year he was in "Tommy" out in Alaska. He has also been seen in several Off Off Broadway shows such as "The Dressing Room", and "The Black Men" and "Police Drama". Aaron Kapner (to the best of his knowledge) has the record for the most shows performed with Phare Play Productions, this being his 7th collaboration with them...The other six were the original one acts: "Unspoken Arrangements", "Telling Ma", and "That's All Folks!!" (in the first Short Shorts) and the full length plays: "The Eight: Reindeer Monologues", "Dark of the Moon" and "Under A Cowboy Moon". He's also appeared in an adaptation of "Anna Karenina" at the American Theater for actors, two productions in the Sam French Play Contest, and numerous Shakespeare staged readings....Viva le Phare Play...
Peter Kilcommons is thrilled to be back with Phare Play Productions, after being seen last year in "Dark of the Moon" and the second "Who Wears Short Shorts". A late entry into the world of theatre, the retired educator's regional credits include performances as Lord Battersby in "Me and My Girl", as Tousaud in the "Scarlet Pimpernel" and as Andrew Duncan in "45 Seconds from Broadway". A former candidate for the State Assembly, Peter appeared as the corrupt Senator Hedges in "Born Yesterday" (hmmm). He appears as Pythagoras in a Cable documentary called "Secrets of the Occult", as Gordon Winslow in "The Red-Legged Devils" and as Clisthenes in "Lysistrata". Peter thanks his wife, Randi; his daughters, family and friends for their encouragement and support.
Linnea Peery - Originally from Northern California, Linnea attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Theatrical appearances include Sam Shepard's "A Lie of the Mind"; "Matt and Ben" by Mindy Kaling and Brenda Withers, Sophocles's "Antigone," the premiere of "Tough Love" by AJ Barnes in Los Angeles and Arthur Kopit's "Chamber Music." Recent film work includes roles in "Long Story, Short," "6000 Degrees" and "Home Court."
Jamie Rosler - After completing her B.A. in Theatre at the University of Miami, Jamie moved to London, England and received her M.A. in Performance from Goldsmiths College, University of London. After studying and performing with practitioners of the highest caliber and most varied backgrounds, she is thrilled to be back in New York City finding and fulfilling her own artistic desires. Earlier this year, Jamie performed in the off-off-Broadway show "String, Strang, Strung", and is psyched to work on "Who Wears Short Shorts?"...Special thanks to Mark, Sheila & physical therapy...
Nicholas Santasier ("Ladies and Gentlemen, the 2,746th President of the United States" " Morley Jollipson) has survived everything from a superhero sidekick talk show to a sexual addiction meeting, a church to a hippie apartment, even 1809 England. And he is still here! And shaven. And fight choreographing. That's about it. 'k bye!
Lizzie Ann Schwarz is so excited to be working with Phare Play once again! Last seen as Gwendolyn in the New York premiere of "Lubricant" (ETC Productions), her other NY credits include: "An Ideal Husband" (Foolish Mortals), "The Last Cloud" (ETC Productions), "An Ozark Mountain Christmas" (Love Creek), "Under a Cowboy Moon" and "Unwrap Your Candy" (Phare Play), and "Visions", an ongoing show dedicated to the healing power of theatre. Lizzie is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, where she studied with Joan Darling and has attended the Stella Adler Conservatory.
Originally from Las Vegas, Nicole has been pursuing acting in New York for over three years. She is a graduate of University of Miami, where she received a B.A. in Theatre and English Literature. Some of her favorite theatrical credits include "Julius Caesar", "Latins Anonymous", "Look Homeward Angel", "Rocky Horror Show", "Iphigenia and Other Daughters", "West Side Story", and "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Nicole has also trained at Queen Mary, University of London and at SITI Company in NYC.
Ashley Thayer is an actor and visual artist who lives and works in New York, NY. She has been acting for the past two years and studies at T. Schreiber Studios. She can be seen in the upcoming independent feature film "Shutterbug", by Cyprian Films.
