THE POTLUCK PLAYS

Genre: Festival
The Milk Can Theatre Company

The Milk Can Theatre Company concludes its fourth season with The Potluck Plays, a premiere of seven original plays in ten-minute form. Each play is based on a recipe. Seven playwrights randomly drew a recipe from a hat, with each recipe representing a course for a potluck dinner: appetizer, salad, main course, vegetables, dessert, and drink. The result is a seven course theatrical feast. Playwrights and work include: Answering written and directed by Tom Nondorf (inspired by a shitake-pumpkin ravioli recipe); Eggnogstic by Bethany Larsen, directed by Ryan Ratelle (inspired by an eggnog cheesecake recipe); PUNCH written and directed by ML Kinney (inspired by a rhubarb punch recipe); Swimming Uptown by Cheryl Davis, directed by Jill Landaker (inspired by a dishwasher salmon recipe); Salad Days by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, directed by Kimberly VerSteeg (inspired by a Jello salad recipe); The Potato Play: A Brief & Inaccurate History of the Potato written and directed by Melissa Fendell (inspired by a french fried potato recipe); The Cooking King by Sharon E. Cooper, directed by Riv Massey (inspired by an asparagus patina recipe). The Potluck Plays are a funny and fabulous evening of theatre.
