Genre: Drama
by Suzanne Bradbeer, directed by Linda Ames Key

Full Bloom tells the story of Phoebe, a teenaged New Yorker, trying to come to terms with a culture that seems to care more about how a woman looks than about what she thinks or can do. Her father has recently left her mother for a younger woman. Their attractive, thirty-something neighbor is contemplating plastic surgery to better compete for acting jobs, and a young boy, who shares Phoebe's interests, just wants to be her friend. Amidst these mixed messages Phoebe tries to make sense of the not always welcome attention of her blossoming body.

Full Bloom was developed as part of The New Harmony Project Writers Conference and originally produced at Barrington Stage Company, Great Barrington, MA, Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director.
