QUEENLTC

Genre: Musical, Solo Performance
Written, Directed and Performed by Kathy Del Rosso

Long term care planning is finally a laughing matter. QueenLTC (Queen Long Term Care) is a hysterical one-woman multimedia musical. Based upon her experience as a renowned gerontologist, writer and star Kathy Del Rosso finds the humor and humanity in growing older and dying. QueenLTC follows a long term care planning lecture gone haywire. Del Rosso cracks mid-speech and takes the audience on an unpredictable ride through the outrageous issues affecting the aged. Featuring animation, charts and new songs, QueenLTC sheds light on Levitra, health care proxies, health care aides' rights and religion. An equal part Carol Burnett, Joni Mitchell and Norma Rae, Del Rosso has created a one-woman tour de force featuring her original songs and hilarious insights. QueenLTC is the perfect mix of outlandish humor and thought-provoking theater.

Kathy Del Rosso holds a master's degree in gerontology, and is a Long Island-based long term care specialist. Her articles have appeared in a variety of journals, including Life Insurance Selling and Bulletin, the official publication of the New York City Association of Life Underwriters. Prior to becoming a gerontologist, Del Rosso enjoyed a successful career as a singer. She starred in the Boston production of Hair; was featured in hundreds of national commercials (Coke, Pepsi, Tender Vittles, Chrysler, Crystal Light, Lee Jeans); worked with Michael Bolton, Luther Vandross and Marc Cohn; and recorded on albums for Laura Branigan, Meat Loaf and Robert Gordon. She is a member of Actors' Equity, AFTRA and SAG.
