Both plays will be directed by Erin Smiley
Mrs. Weinberg's Profession is an adaptation by Aaron Rosenblatt of one of George Bernard Shaw's earliest plays – Mrs. Warren's Profession. When Shaw wrote the play more than 100 years ago during the reign of Queen Victoria, he had to tiptoe around two of the main topics, incest and prostitution. Rosenblatt's adaptation takes place in New York City in the roaring twenties. The plays' plot, theme and characterization parallel the renowned playwright's structure, but include thoroughly American slang and references.
