by Tennessee Willams, directed by Robert J. Weinstein
Tennessee Williams' tale about a family with a dark secret. This classic American play, set in New Orleans, premiered in New York in 1958. In order to suppress the truth of a young man's horrific death, the sole witness has been placed in a mental facility and faces the prospect of undergoing a frontal lobotomy. Walter Kerr wrote the original production was a "concrete and blistering portrait of loneliness" and the New York Times called it "a superb achievement."
