Genre: Classical
by William Shakespeare

Palehorse Productions, an emerging classical theatre company based in New York City presents their inaugural production: Shakespeare's dark and sensual tragedy of Othello, which opens March 16 at the Kraine Theater. Set in 17th century Cyprus, General Othello, the Moor of Venice, is coerced by his friend , the two-faced Iago, into believing that his wife, Desdemona, has been unfaithful. A twisted plot of fatal jealousy and rage transpires as Othello's darkest suspicions are awakened. This Othello is unique for its dedication to the integrity of Shakespeare's words, rather than any added concepts. The production boasts a strong ensemble cast (most of whom have been collaborating for over ten years), detailed period costumes, Moorish music and gritty sword brawls. (WARNING: Brief Nudity)
