THE WORKROOM

Genre: Drama
By Jean-Claude Grumberg, American Version by Daniel A.Stein with Sara O´Connor

The Workroom (L'Atelier) is a play that explores prejudice, anti-Semitism and the devastating consequences of war--evils we would hope to be free of as we have entered the 21st century, yet they continue to play an evident role in today's society. The play, set in post WWII Paris, draws in a cramped and airless tailor's "workroom" a portrait of survivors. Six women and two men labor desperately to sew back together the fragments of their shattered lives.
