kamp NYC presents CHAMPIONS
| Open: 12/31/05 Close: 01/01/06
kamp NYC is an intensive one-of-a-kind Broadway experience, started three years ago to train the most talented young performers in the United States and abroad. With the assistance of the best instructors in New York City, these young talented individuals (12-17 yrs.) have a life changing opportunity to live, breathe their passion and perform in an original off-Broadway show. This seven day intensive helps participants learn important techniques, gives them vital experience, and most importantly, gives them a first-hand realization of the pressures and obstacles of performing in New York City. These kids, from diverse backgrounds, make life long friendships and come together with the same dream of making it on Broadway. CHAMPIONS is a story of the St. Anne's School girls soccer team and their struggle to work together. New players join the group with hopes of improving the team's history of defeats, and the girls prepare to face their biggest rivals. On the way to the big game, their bus breaks down and they find themselves with nowhere to go and nothing to do. The girls begin to open up to each other and slowly learn to accept their differences and realize their potential as a team. Will this new team unity come in time to help the girls face their competition and become champions?
