Production History

Best Of Scenes From The Staten Island Ferry  | Open: 03/10/12 Close: 04/01/12

Scenes from the Staten Island Ferry initially consisted of six original one-acts in 2003 that were written, directed, rehearsed, and performed within 24 hours. The presentation evolved into a playwrighting competition where writers from throughout the world yearly submit short plays that have their setting on the Staten Island Ferry. The best are chosen for production in the spring of every year.

Due to enthusiastic audience and media response, Sundog now presents Scenes... annually.  As we enter our 10th year, we are pleased to offer Best of … Scenes From The Staten Island Ferry --  Four readers will choose eight scripts to present. As an added dimension to this decade celebration, there will be guest cameo appearances of local “celebrities”.  Who will show up on the “boat” is anyone’s guess – You certainly won’t want to miss this trip!

This production is supported in part by NYC Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council; NY Community Trust; Open Society through Fund for the City of New York; Bloomberg Philanthropies.
