Play or be Played is the first production of GRAFORSHA THEATRE & PRODUCTIONS. Our new company is engaged in theatrical and diversified communication activities. Graforsha is dedicated to producing Caribbean plays and will be collaborating with Caribbean and American playwrights. Graforsha is dedicated to the exploration of works from emerging artist. We seek to harness the talents of those who love and hunger for the opportunity to be molded in the arts and to be showcased on stage. Graforsha is dedicated to entertain, educate and influence audiences by introducing Caribbean culture through plays, folklore, storytelling and performance arts. We will create quality theater experiences that confront human morality and purpose in this universe. We strive to revamp arts in the Caribbean communities that will embrace the rich culture and to embrace our history through the medium of performance arts.

“Play or Be Played” mirrors the life of a young Christian woman who travels from the Caribbean to the USA, to reunite with her fiance, in hope of a better life. Reality strikes when she discovers her ‘married’ fiance is living in squalor and that the stories she has been told about America being a land of “milk and honey” quickly fades. Soon fear of abandonment, homelessness and deportation threatens her loyalty to her love, and she spirals into a life of frivolous sexual escapades.
Graforsha Theatre & Productions is a new company committed to producing Caribbean plays of emerging Artist. The company seeks to foster original work and to harness the talents of those who love and hunger for the opportunity to be molded in the arts; on or off stage. We are dedicated to entertain, educate an audience, by introducing Caribbean culture through plays, dance, music that highlight story telling, folklore, and team meeting. We aim to create quality theatre experience that confront human morality and our purpose in this universe. We are keen that revamping Caribbean Arts in a saturated American/ European market can be difficult, but we are dedicated to the task to embrace our rich culture and to show case our history that is still hidden in the abstract. | |
