The TEAM is the Theatre of the Emerging American Moment. We are a New York City-based theatre company dedicated to dissecting and celebrating the experience of living in America today.
We devise plays by examining a wealth of material, ranging from existing texts (fiction, theory, drama, etc.) to images taken from visual art and film, and then combining that research with original writing and staging. At times a rock concert, at times a sporting event, the TEAM has been described as Gertrude Stein meets MTV.
Our productions are relentless out of necessity, multi-tasking between hyper-intellectual commentaries and exuberant physicality; we know of no other way to behave. The work combines aggressive athleticism with delicate examinationsof the social and political factors shaping our world today, keeping the brain, eyes, and heart of the audience constantly stimulated.

Mission Drift is a pioneering journey west through time and space in pursuit of the soul of American capitalism. In this critically acclaimed contemporary musical with a score that fuses Vegas glitz with Western ballads, seductive storyteller Miss Atomic interweaves the epic saga of two immortal Dutch teens with an intimate portrait of a cocktail waitress and a cowboy. A political and urgent work about creation and destruction, bankruptcy and bonanza, and the crumbling myth of an eternal frontier. Featuring 11 premieres from critical US and international artists, COIL is an annual winter festival that kicks off on January 5, 2012. The presentations are socially engaged, visceral, and groundbreaking. The festival spans 25 days, with all genres of performance, and takes place in 8 different venues across NYC.
