Fallen Angel Theatre is a non-profit company based in New York committed to presenting the most outstanding & dynamic new Irish & British plays written by and about women. This wealth of new female writing has largely been untapped in the US. Founded in 2003, Fallen Angel Theatre is the first American company with the goal of interpreting these plays in a fresh, exciting and commercially viable way for New York audiences.

Fallen Angel Theatre has a goal to create a new and diverse audience base that transcends cultural barriers thanks to the quality and universal themes in the writing we present.

Fallen Angel Theatre has strong ties to the community and has an outreach program working with area non profits, organisations & individuals, with the goal of expanding education and knowledge about their work in the community. Our work with these non-profits takes different forms. We facilitate a two-way collaboration with the organizations in the development stages of our project which benefits both the organization's members and our company members during the Production process. We also support organizations by contributing a percentage of our box office takings towards their causes.

Eva The Chaste  | Open: 07/06/11 Close: 07/24/11
Eva the Chaste, written by Barbara Hammond and produced by Fallen Angel Theatre Company, immerses the audience in the pivotal passions and pressing responsibilities of a woman whose twenty-year sprint away from her past comes crashing to a close as dawn breaks over Dublin Bay. Hammond set out to reveal, through the use of spoken thought, a genuine and intimate portrait of a woman at the crossroads, both literally and figuratively, of her life. The script, set in Dublin and Paris, explores the profound and unpredictable bond between a mother and a daughter; the grasp for life at the approach of death; and the road to hell — shining, smooth and paved with good intentions.

WHEN I WAS A GIRL I USED TO SCREAM AND SHOUT  | Open: 04/14/16 Close: 05/08/16
Embracing her Scottish culture and wit, Sharman Macdonald’s When I Was A Girl I Used To Scream and Shout is a bitingly funny, delicately crafted memory play, exploring the parallel growing pains of a mother and daughter. Set in 1983, the play takes a stripped and honest look at the relationship between childless, unmarried Fiona and her crisp, divorced mother Morag, with whom she is sharing a Scottish beach holiday. As the play unfolds we discover it was in the very same resort where at least a decade previously, the young Fiona struggling with an imposed view of religion and sexuality, deliberately got pregnant to prevent Morag's remarriage and her mother's one chance of happiness.
