Au Ments company began in 1996, with the meeting between Tomeu Gomila and Andrea Cruz with the purpose of sharing artistic experiences in dance and theater. This meeting has been growing in the time and more artists have been adding: Manu Martinez in lighting design, Kiko Barrenengoa in musical creation, Carolina Cruz in costumes design, Roberto Rodríguez and Jaume Caldentey in video recording and edition and the painter Rafel Joan in painting animations. All these collaborations have enriched the purpose and have fortified the work, with a creative group that give, and develop, answers to the inspirations of Au Ments, maintaining effective the creation with author's projects like Asteroide 9900 doctor iluminatus, inspired in Ramón Llull's life and work. Each project is an own universe and simultaneously a new challenge. surprising us to surprise the public, disordering the daily world to see it from other perspectives and transforming it to convert in poetic symbols; thus we work, and our personal mark is to maintain a dynamical relationship between plastic arts, butoh dance and gestural theater.

Au Ments has toured their shows internationally in places like France, Belgium, Cuba, Armenia, Germany, Finland, Spain, Brazil, Chile and Portugal.

Tales Of The Body  | Open: 07/07/10 Close: 07/11/10
EAST RIVER COMMEDIA in association with AU MENTS present TALES OF THE BODY as part of the 4th ANNUAL undergroundzero festival.

Tales of the body is a journey through the inner landscapes that have always inhabited us. This work inspired by the memory of the body, creates situations that supposes a transformation of the corporeality and uses the anatomy of the interpreter like an authentic automaton and marionette. This delicate piece of visual theatre plays different scenic languages (contemporary dance, butoh, objects manipulation…) to develop a new choreographic proposal.

Performed by Andrea Cruz.
