The Collegiate Chorale, among New York's foremost vocal ensembles, has added to the richness of the city's cultural fabric for more than 65 years.  Founded in 1941 by the legendary conductor Robert Shaw, The Chorale has established a preeminent reputation for its interpretations of the traditional choral repertoire, vocal works by American composers, and rarely heard operas-in-concert, as well as commissions and premieres of new works by today's most exciting creative artists.  In the summer of 2009, The Chorale performed for a fourth season at Switzerland's Verbier Music Festivaland in July 2008 toured with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem.  This season, The Chorale presented the world premiere two-act concert version of Ricky Ian Gordon's opera The Grapes of Wrath at Carnegie Hall to great critical acclaim.  The mission of The Collegiate Chorale, led by Music Director James Bagwell, is to enrich its audiences through innovative programming and exceptional performances of a broad range of vocal music featuring a premier choral ensemble.

Production History

American Symphony Orchestra - 50th Birthday Celebration  | Open: 10/26/12 Close: 10/26/12
The Collegiate Chorale announces its upcoming performance with the American Symphony Orchestra in their 50th Anniversary Celebration that pays tribute to pioneering ASO founder Leopold Stokowski. Current ASO Music Director Leon Botstein conducts this program made up of three works that mark milestones in Stokowski’s career and features an array of soloists, as well as the Brooklyn Youth Chorus and The Collegiate Chorale.

The celebration on October 26, 2012 at 8pm begins with a special arrangement of The Star-Spangled Banner created by Stokowski for the American Symphony Orchestra. The anthem will be followed by Charles Ives’ Fourth Symphony, which was premiered by Stokowski and the ASO at Carnegie Hall in 1965. Composed between 1910 and 1925, the symphony evolved over time and, like many of Ives’ works, makes reference to a range of musical styles including American indigenous music, the European classical tradition and even Ives’ own earlier compositions.

The evening concludes with Gustav Mahler’s monumental Eighth Symphony, the U.S. premiere of which was conducted by Stokowski (this time with the Philadelphia Orchestra). In this incarnation, the oft-dubbed “Symphony of a Thousand” (which Mahler himself referred to as his greatest work,) will feature massive instrumental and vocal forces, with The Collegiate Chorale and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus placed not only on stage but also around the hall.  For more information about this concert, please visit www.americansymphony.org.

A soldier’s letter to his wife, a speech by Abraham Lincoln, lyrics to Stephen Foster parlor songs – these are the words of battle hymns, Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang’s innovative new choral exploration of the feelings of people in times of war. On May 15, 2014, The Collegiate Chorale will present the New York Premiere of this unusual and haunting work, performed within the cavernous Hangar Deck of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, a setting rich in the remembrance of wars served.
 
Written for a symphonic chorus and one solo drum, battle hymns is ideally realized by the top-flight Collegiate Chorale, joined by members of the Veteran Artist Program.  The combined 200 voices will sing out in unison, counterpoint, and multi-layered polyphony, to create a unique acoustic encounter inside the walls of this hallowed aircraft carrier. Modern music merges with military memory – a one-of-a-kind experience.

Beatrice Di Tenda  | Open: 12/05/12 Close: 12/05/12
The Chorale will feature the extraordinary soprano Angela Meade in the title role of Beatrice di Tenda, along with soloists Jamie Barton, Michael Spyres and Nicholas Pallesen.   Set in 15th century Milan and based on a historical figure, the opera tells of the tormented but saintly wife of the Duke of Milan, falsely accused of adultery by the scorned lover of one of her admirers and sentenced to death by her husband.  Beatrice di Tenda is characterized by ravishing melodies and exciting finales.  It premiered in 1833 and was famously revived in 1961 by Joan Sutherland and Marilyn Horne, Music Director James Bagwell conducts The Collegiate Chorale and American Symphony Orchestra in this gala concert evening.

Contemporary Voices  | Open: 05/21/12 Close: 05/21/12
 The Collegiate Chorale presents Contemporary Voices on May 21, 2012 at 7pm at St. Bartholomew’s Church, 325 Park Avenue, NYC.  The concert features five musical gems by 20th and 21st Century masters of choral composition.  Single tickets start at $20 and are available online at collegiatechorale.org or by phone at The Chorale office at (646) 435-9465.

The performance will open with a work that The Chorale premiered in 1947, Aaron Copland's In The Beginning, for mezzo-soprano soloist and a cappella choir.  The soloist will be Virginia Warnken.  Following Avner Dorman's evocative Psalm 67 (NY premiere), Toru Takemitsu's pensive All That the Man Left Behind When He Died, and Krzysztof Penderecki's ethereal Song of the Cherubim, the Chorale will conclude their 70th Anniversary season with Francis Poulenc's beloved Gloria, with esteemed organist Christopher Creaghan and soprano soloist Marie Mascari.  The sanctuary of St. Bartholomew's Church will provide a beautiful setting for this music, conducted by The Chorale's Music Director, James Bagwell.

Israel Philharmonic Orchestra  | Open: 10/25/12 Close: 10/25/12
The Collegiate Chorale announces its encore performance with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra of Arnold Schoenberg's Kol Nidre and Israeli composer Noam Sheriff's Mechaye Hametim(Revival of the Dead), which they performed this summer at the Salzburg Festival.  The October 25 performance will be the New York premiere of Mechaye Hametim

Along with Grammy Award-winning baritone Thomas Hampson, Avery Fisher Career Grant recipientYuja Wang and The Collegiate Chorale, tenor Carl Hieger joins the roster of participating artists in a unique program with Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra at Carnegie Hall on October 25, 2012 at 7pm. The concert recently saw a program change: after the heartfelt response the IPO received for its performance at the Salzburg Festival in July, and front-page coverage of the concert in The New York Times, the Orchestra quickly restructured the October 25 program for Carnegie Hall. Arnold Schoenberg's Kol Nidre and the New York premiere of Noam Sheriff's Mechaye Hametim (Revival of the Dead)—two works performed in Salzburg—will bookend a concert that also features internationally celebrated pianist Yuja Wang performing Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1. This benefit concert is being generously underwritten by Adrienne Arsht. Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra will travel across the country with Yuja Wang, performing in New York, Palm Desert, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

Moise Et Pharaon  | Open: 11/30/11 Close: 11/30/11
The Collegiate Chorale presents Rossini’s Moïse et Pharaon .  This opera-in-concert presentation will feature Rossini’s lavish French-language version of 1827 replete with romance, intrigue, vengeance, and acts of God as Moses leads the Jews out of the land of Pharaoh and into freedom, by way of the plagues and the parting of the Red Sea. The story is impassioned and the music is gorgeous.  Guest artists include James Morris, Kyle Ketelsen, Angela Meade, Eric Cutler, and Marina Rebeka, with the American Symphony Orchestra.  James Bagwell will conduct.

The Collegiate Chorale 2014 Spring Benefit  | Open: 05/15/14 Close: 05/15/14
The Collegiate Chorale announces its 2014 Spring Benefit on May 15, 2014 at 6:30pm at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum Pier 86, 12th Ave. & 46th Street in New York, NY.  The event will honor the Veteran Artist Program, and will feature the New York premiere of David Lang’s battle hymns to benefit The Collegiate Chorale’s artistic and education programs.

The evening will start at 6:30pm with a cocktail reception on the Portside Terrace, followed by the 7:30pm concert of David Lang's battle hymns in Hangar 3, and will conclude with a seated dinner and live auction in the Great Hall with a stunning view of the Hudson River at 8:30 pm.  Attire is festive and Benefit tickets are available from $1,000 to $1,500. VETERAN ARTIST PROGRAM
The Collegiate Chorale is thrilled to salute the mission of VAP and to include veteran artists in its production of battle hymns. Through networking, mentorships, and collaborations with the performing arts community, the Veteran Artist Program fosters and promotes artists of all kinds who have returned from military service in Iraq and Afghanistan. In the words of BR McDonald, founding director of VAP:

So many people think that the military experience is at odds with the creative arts world - It's not. As a veteran, I don't have to give up one world for another. The time is NOW for veterans to reshape the arts in America and to own the discussion about veteran experience in the mainstream creative arts community.

LIVE AUCTION 
The evening’s live auction will be hosted by the extraordinary Roger Rees and will feature select and exclusive packages as well as opportunities to sponsor Side-by-Side students and veteran artists to travel and sing with The Collegiate Chorale at the 2014 Verbier Festival in Switzerland.  The Side-by-Side program offers talented high school singers the chance to rehearse, perform, and tour with the ensemble.  In 2014, The Collegiate Chorale celebrates the 10th anniversary of this life-changing program.

The Collegiate Chorale Presents Mefistofele  | Open: 11/06/13 Close: 11/06/13
The Collegiate Chorale announces its first concert of the season, Mefistofele, by Arrigo Boito on November 6, 2013 at 8pm at Carnegie Hall, 881 7th Avenue, NYC.  Tickets will be available for sale on September 16 at www.carnegiehall.org or by calling CarnegieCharge at 212-247-7800. Single tickets for this concert start at $15. Best known as the librettist for Verdi’s Otello and Falstaff, Boito was also a composer and completed one opera, Mefistofele, based on the legend of Faust.  He titled it after the character that truly drives the action: Mefistofele, the devil himself.  Featuring bass-baritone Eric Owens in the title role, Arturo Chacón-Cruz as Faust, and soprano Julianna Di Giacomo as both Margarita and Helen of Troy, and with the combined forces of The Collegiate Chorale and Manhattan Girl’s Chorus depicting sorcerers, witches, will-o-the-wisps, ancient Greek nymphs, penitents, and cherubim, this performance will provide heavenly music and devilish good fun.  Mefistofele has not been heard in New York since 2000.  James Bagwell will conduct.

From the creators for the hit Broadway musical Spamalot, Not The Messiah (He’s a Very Naughty Boy) is a comic oratorio based on Monty Python’s movie The Life of Brian.  Described by Eric Idle as “Baroque-N-Roll,” Not The Messiah features a lively pastiche of musical styles ranging from pop, country, and Broadway to doo-wop, hip hop, and Greek chorus. Hit songs include “Hail to the Shoe,” “We Love Sheep,” and the audience favorite and sing-along “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.”

 

Not the Messiah will feature Eric Idle, Victoria Clark, Marc Kudisch, Lauren Worsham, and William Ferguson with Conductor/Director Ted Sperling and Orchestra of St. Luke’s.

Eric Idle is an English comedian, actor, author, singer, playwright, and songwriter.  Idle is the co-creator of Monty Python as seen on TV, stage and in five films, including The Life of Brian and The Holy Grail.  Idle wrote the book and the lyrics and adapted the latter for the stage as Spamalot, which won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 2005, a Grammy, a Drama Desk Award, and ran for almost five years on Broadway.  Creator of The Rutles, he starred as Ko-Ko in the English National Opera version of The Mikado, in London and Houston, and appeared last year in The Pirates of Penzance in Central Park directed by Collegiate Chorale Artistic Director Ted Sperling. He is also one of the conceivers of the musical Seussical.  He appeared live in front of a billion people worldwide singing his song Always Look On the Bright Side of Life at the Closing Ceremony of the London Olympics.  His musical play What About Dick? stars Eric with Eddie Izzard, Russell Brand, Billy Connolly, Tracey Ullman, Jane Leeves, and Tim Curry and is available for download  at Whataboutdick.com.  He has written two novels and The Greedy Bastard Diary, and has also appeared in several movies, such as Nuns On the Run, Casper, Shrek The Third, and The Adventures of Baron Munchhausen.  He has spent the last year working on The final Monty Python reunion show One Down Five To Go at London’s O2.  He wrote Not The Messiah (He’s a Very Naughty Boy, with John Du Prez in 2007, and has played it in Toronto, Sydney, Auckland, Wolf Trap, and The Hollywood Bowl, as well as filming it live at The Royal Albert Hall. John Du Prez is a musician and composer best known as a past member of 1980's multi-hit New Wave Salsa group Modern Romance (1981-83). The band achieved eight top-forty hits and two hit albums and John - who played trumpet with Modern Romance - even had a song named after him: 'Who Is John Du Prez?', the b-side to the group's hit 'Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White'. John quit the band in 1984 and concentrated on composing music scores for films like the Rob Lowe vehicle, Oxford Blues (1984), A Fish Called Wanda (1988), and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990). He has since collaborated with ex- Modern Romance frontman David Jaymes a number of times, most notably on the feature film Fascination (2004), and their single 'Best Years of Our Lives' featured in Shrek (2001). John is friend to Eric Idle and has worked with him on numerous Monty Python projects including Life of Brian (1979) and The Meaning of Life (1983). He and Eric wrote and performed the song 'Really Nice Day' in the animated movie The Wild (2006).

 

Victoria Clark maintains one of the most diverse performing careers of any artist living today, equally at home in plays, musicals, film, television, and the concert stage. Clark received Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards, as well as a Drama League honor for her luminous portrayal of protective but domineering mother Margaret Johnson in the critically-acclaimed Craig Lucas-Adam Guettel musical The Light in the Piazza in 2005. Her virtuoso performance in the Lincoln Center Production of the Tony Award-winning musical has made her a favorite among audiences and critics, including The New York Times’ Ben Brantley, who called Clark’s work in Piazza "the best musical performance by an actress this season."

 

Acclaimed for his versatility in both opera and concert, William Ferguson is acknowledged as one of today’s most promising young artists. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Ferguson recently joined the roster of The Metropolitan Opera. He made his debut with the Santa Fe Opera as Caliban in the North American premiere of Thomas Adès’ The Tempest and his debut with Opera Australia as Truffaldino in a new production of The Love for Three Oranges conducted by Richard Hickox and recorded for Chandos. Recent engagements include performances with the Marilyn Horne Foundation, his debut with Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival, and with Orchestra of St. Luke’s. He made his debut with Philadelphia Opera as Pang (Turandot), his debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Orff’s Carmina Burana, and sang Caliban at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam.

 

Actor Marc Kudisch began his New York career in the national tour of Bye Bye Birdie (Conrad Birdie), and later reprised the role in the 1995 ABC TV movie remake starring Jason Alexander and Vanessa Williams.  Kudisch's Broadway credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Reuben), Beauty and the Beast (Gaston), High Society (George Kittredge), The Scarlet Pimpernel (Chauvelin), Michael John LaChiusa's The Wild Party at the Public Theater (Jackie), Bells Are Ringing (Jeff Moss), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Trevor Graydon), Assassins (The Proprietor), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Baron Bomburst), and Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 (Franklin Hart Jr.).  He has been nominated for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his roles in 9 to 5 (2009), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (2005) and Thoroughly Modern Millie (2002), as well as the Outer Critics Circle Award, and the Drama Desk Award.

 

Lauren Worsham is a Drama Desk Award-winning actress and singer currently appearing on Broadway in A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder (2014 Tony Award winner for Best Musical). Other favorite roles include Lisa in Dog Days at Montclair Peak Performances (dir. Robert Woodruff), Flora in Turn of the Screw at New York City Opera (dir. Sam Buntrock), Amy in Where's Charley at New York City Center (dir. John Doyle), Cunegonde in New York City Opera's Candide, and Olive in the first National tour of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Other credits include La Perichole at New York City Opera, Carnival (Cinderella) at Goodspeed Opera House, Into the Woods at Kansas City Rep, Master Class (Sophie) at Paper Mill Playhouse, The Light in the Piazza at Weston Playhouse (Clara) and The Fantasticks (Luisa) at Emelin Theatre. She is the recipient of a 2014 Drama Desk and a 2014 Theatre World Award for her performance in Gentleman's Guide.

 

One of today's leading musical artists, Ted Sperling is a director, music director, arranger, orchestrator, conductor, singer, pianist and violinist.  Mr. Sperling won the 2005 Tony and Drama Desk Awards (with Adam Guettel and Bruce Coughlin) for his orchestrations of The Light in the Piazza, for which he was also music director. Other Broadway credits as music director/conductor/ pianist include the Tony Award-winning revival of South Pacific and recent revival of Guys and Dolls, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Full Monty, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Angels in America, My Favorite Year, Falsettos, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Les Misérables, Roza, and Sunday in the Park with George. Mr. Sperling was also an original cast member of the Broadway musical Titanic. Bridging the genres of oratorio and ballad opera, Handel’s intriguing Susanna originally premiered at Covent Garden in 1749. Based on an Apocryphal chapter from the biblical Book of Daniel, Susanna tells the story of a virtuous young woman who is falsely accused of sexual promiscuity by two lecherous elders. Aided by the boy prophet Daniel, the true nature of the elders is exposed and Susanna is proven innocent. Tickets on sale November 6, 2014.

To calm the boy’s fears and help him understand his faith and heritage, the Rabbi recounts ancient biblical tales, and as he does, the stories of Abraham, Sarah, Jacob, Rachel, Moses, Ruth, Saul, and David all come to life.  Tickets on sale January 8, 2015.

New York, NY — National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Jane Chu has announced that The Collegiate Chorale is one of only 919 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant. The Collegiate Chorale will receive a $30,000 grant in support of its May 2015 concert and CD recording of Kurt Weill and Franz Werfel's musical epic, The Road of Promise.

The Collegiate Chorale announces the New York Premieres of two works by major composers: Symphony No. 7 “Toltec” by Philip Glass and Oceana by Osvaldo Golijov, featuring international jazz vocalist Biella Da Costa and the American Symphony Orchestra on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 7pm at Carnegie Hall, 881 7th Avenue, NYC. In this pairing of contemporary choral compositions by Osvaldo Golijov and Philip Glass, The Chorale turns its attention towards Latin America with the New York premieres of Symphony No. 7 “Toltec” and Oceana.  Composed in 2004, Symphony No. 7 – A Toltec Symphony is Philip Glass’s personal homage to the ancient traditions and beliefs of the peoples of Mesoamerica, circa 700-1100 BCE.  Although often cited for their accomplishments in mathematics, calendar making, building and architecture, Glass is concerned with Toltec personal spiritual development:  “The Toltecs emphasized the relationship with the forces of the natural world (the sun, earth, water, fire and wind) in developing their own wisdom traditions.”  In his symphony, scored for full orchestra and large chorus, Glass does not use any of his trademark electric keyboard sounds, but instead explores musical textures and phrases within the realm of a strictly acoustic, natural world.  In using pure, natural acoustic instruments, he gets closer spiritually to the natural world the Toltec culture worships.  This musical exploration results in extended yet constantly changing harmonies, textures, and rhythms.  

Commissioned by the Oregon Bach Festival in 1996, Golijov wrote Oceana in the spirit of a Bach cantata but with a Latin American musical style that features a jazz/pop vocalist, percussion, and guitars.  Set to the poetry of Pablo Neruda, Oceana, in Golijov’s words, is the “transmutation of passion into geometry”.  He describes his work such that “water and longing, light and hope, the immensity of South America's nature and pain, are here transmuted into pure musical symbols, which nevertheless should be more liquid than the sea and deeper than the yearning that they represent.”  Golijov juxtaposes rolling, cascading arcs of sound (giant rain sticks in the percussion, choral and orchestral writing that sweeps forward and back in extended phrases) and the unique sound of Brazilian jazz with the technical precision of classical oratorio and symphonic structure.  The result is an astounding and exciting rush of sound, drama and emotion; waves of text overlapping waves of sound; jazz merging with classical; and cinematic cascades of texture upon texture.  Popular Venezuelan Jazz vocalist and Golijov specialist Biella Da Costa joins The Chorale in the performance of this powerful musical work.

The devil is coming to Carnegie Hall and he has a heavenly voice! Eric Owens will star in the title role of Arrigo Boito’s Mefistofele on the occasion of The Collegiate Chorale’s 2013 Annual Fall Gala on November 6, 2013 at 6pm at Carnegie Hall, 154 West 57th Street, NYC.  The festive Gala evening will honor Directors Emeriti Anna M. and William H. Mann for over ten years of dedicated and inspired Board service.

 

The evening will start at 6pm with a cocktail reception in Carnegie Hall’s Rose Museum, followed by a seated dinner in the Rohatyn Room.  The concert performance of Arrigo Boito’s Mefistofele will start at 8pm in the Stern Auditorium with the dashing Arturo Chacón-Cruz as Faust, the heavenly Julianna di Giacomo as Margherita, and the great bass-baritone Eric Owens as Mefistofele. Arrigo Boito based his only completed opera on the legend of Faust, but titled after the character that truly drives the action: Mefistofele, the devil himself.  And what a devil we have in great bass-baritone Eric Owens who will make his debut in the role. The combined forces of The Collegiate Chorale and Manhattan Girls Chorus depicting sorcerers, witches, ancient Greek nymphs, and cherubim, the thrilling musical fireworks of the soloists, and the impressive American Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro James Bagwell will provide a spectacular evening of heavenly music and devilish good fun.

The Collegiate Chorale announces its 2013 Spring Benefit honoring the Verbier Festival on April 30, 2013 at 6:00pm at Carnegie Hall, 154 West 57th Street, NYC. The Collegiate Chorale cherishes a rich collaboration with the Verbier Festival since its first appearance at the festival under James Levine in 2005. The Chorale is thrilled to honor the festival at the occasion of their 20th anniversary and to celebrate a shared mission for artistic excellence and inter-generational exchange through music. 

The Chorale's grand concert performance of the operetta Song of Norway will be followed by the benefit dinner, a lively and always vastly entertaining auction, the proceeds of which will support The Chorale's artistic and education programs. Benefit guests will have the opportunity to sponsor high school and college students from our unique Side-by-Side program to travel with The Chorale to the Verbier Festival this summer. Approximately 200 guests from New York's social and philanthropic community attend the Benefit every spring. 

The event will begin at 6pm with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in Carnegie Hall's Rose Museum, followed by Robert Wright and George Forrest's Song of Norway in the Stern Auditorium at 6:30pm. The seated dinner and live auction will follow in the Rohatyn Room. Attire is festive. Benefit tickets are available from $500 to $1,500 and Benefit tables from $5,000 to $15,000. An all-star cast from Broadway and the classical world comes together to present a rare mingling of opera and theatre in The Grapes of Wrath.  Originally commissioned and produced by the Minnesota Opera and called "The great American opera" by Musical America, Gordon and Korie's new work melds popular musical styles of the '20s and '30s (song-and-dance, soaring love songs, banjo ballads, jazz choruses, and a barbershop quartet) with the classic drama of grand opera, all to a heart-wrenching yet uplifting effect.  The composer (Gordon) and librettist (Korie) have crafted a special concert version of their original opera with narration written especially for this presentation.  The starry cast includes  Jane Fonda (narrator), Victoria Clark, Christine Ebersole, Nathan Gunn, Elizabeth Futral, Anthony Dean Griffey, Peter Halverson, Steven Pasquale, Stephen Powell, Andrew Wilkowske and Matthew Worth and the role of Tom Joad's young sister, Ruthie, will be sung by Nathan Gunn's daughter Madelyn Gunn.  Music by Ricky Ian Gordon and libretto by Michael Korie.  Featuring the American Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ted Sperling.  Directed by Eric Simonson with lighting design by Frances Aronson, projection design by Wendall Harrington, sound design by Scott Lehrer and costume design by Jacob Climer.
 
"In this concert version, we convey the story of the Joad family's journey across America in approximately two hours.  We have retained many of the big musical set pieces, arias and choral ensembles, and we have eliminated much of the recitative, replacing it with a narrator who reads sections from the novel, allowing segues from those powerful passages seamlessly into music that continues the drama without loss of suspense or momentum.  In addition, this version will feature music never heard in the original full staging of the opera.  This is not only a concert version of the full opera, but a different version," said Michael Korie.
