Confirmation  | Open: 08/15/09 Close: 08/22/09
teatro oscuro and No Jacket Required in association with The Present Company present CONFIRMATION as part of FringeNYC.

Set in Reagan Era New York City, CONFIRMATION is a comedic drama that examines the emotional commerce that lies beneath our personal relationships. Inner-city school teacher Joe Kortig has moved into a new apartment after a grueling breakup. However, a fresh start remains elusive. His mother Marie has written an award winning book on parenting, using Joe's life as source material, his long-time friend Myra desires to renew their physical relationship and his best friend David has a sexual encounter with one of Joe's students. As Joe struggles with the needs all around him the consequences of David's fling bear down on him in the form of school Principal Father Cohan.

Vincent Marano returns with his 8th show in as many years, a serio-comic follow up to his whimsical La Vigilia (FringeNYC, 2008) and Note to Self. Mr. Marano has directed award-winning dramas such as Tim Nolan’s The Way Out (Fringe, 2002, Best Performance) and Acts of Contrition (Fringe, 2003, Best Play), and his own sold out hit political satire A Collapse (Fringe, 2006). CONFIRMATION is one of his most personal works, recalling the personal tragedies he witness as New York City school teacher for 24 years.

The cast includes Ethan Downing, Tim Dudek, Tod Engle*, Helen Galek*, Corey Tazmania* and John Triana*.

Note to Self  | Open: 02/27/08 Close: 03/15/08
teatro oscuro presents NOTE TO SELF, the new play written and directed by Vincent Marano.

How should we judge the success of a relationship; by its length or its depth? NOTE TO SELF explores dating and mating in the new millennia, and whether love alone is ever enough. Two people times six months divided by the past...in love, failure is not only an option, sometimes it's the goal.

Starring Jerry Ferris & Christina Romanello.
