7 Santas  | Open: 12/11/06 Close: 12/11/06
7 Santas, Jeff Goode's long awaited follow up to The Eight: Reindeer Monologues will have it's first public reading presented by Houses on the Moon Theatre Company on Monday Dec. 11th 7pm at the Duplex. In Reindeer Monologues scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa's eight tiny reindeer accuses him of sexual harassment. As mass media descends upon the event, the other members of the sleigh team demand to share their perspectives, and a horrific tale of corruption and perversion emerges, which seems to implicate everyone from the littlest elf to the tainted Saint himself. With each deer's confession, the truth behind the shocking allegations becomes clearer and clearer. In 7 Santas it's Santa's turn to speak, and Christmas will never be the same again.

Tara's Crossing by Jeffrey Solomon  | Open: 06/02/05 Close: 06/26/05
A play about political asylum for Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, and Transgendered Refugees

Since 1994, a small but significant number of refugees have been considered for political asylum in the U.S. if they can prove they were persecuted on account of their sexual orientation, gender identity or HIV status. Tara's Crossing recounts a transgendered asylum-seeker's remarkable flight from Guyana and her uphill battle to prove her claims of persecution from within the confines of U.S. Immigration Detention. The play is one of the first ever to deal with the subject of political asylum for sexual minority refugees and was inspired by interviews with asylum-seekers from around the world.
